Yeah, you could wing parts at it. That's what the mech's did to my sister's air con. Replaced tx valve, replaced dryer, replaced something else. 1600 bill thanks. didn't fix it. I took it back there and demanded they tear the bill up and fix it. It turned out to be a wire under the dash in the climate control. Being a mechanic myself, I dropped 300 pm the counter, told them they were lucky to see anything at all and that if I heard from them again there would be hell to pay. Cannot stand people who charge for time and parts because they're either too inept or too lazy to do the job properly.
South Main Auto Repair LLC that is a very fancy pants pen. Almost looks like it has a little Elec Tree City inside.

Prodemand through me for a loop the other day. Following the flow chart for a c1000 on a 2012 dodge ram. The brake light switch would internmently short out and keep the brake lights on and the abs and trailer light would flash.
So i get into it and it want me to check for voltage backfeeding through the abs module, which entails unplugging main abs connector and testing voltage on our brake signal 1 that feeds into the ecu. I had no power which then prompted me to replace abs module. After looking at the wiring diagram that shiz still dont make sense

Not sure on that specific model of GM, but most of the smart motors from gm models of that time range have a position sense in the motor that gets grease on the contacts and gets possessed. They like to start as bouncing around and stopping in the wrong place, but can also just turn on without warning or not shut off. taking the motor apart and cleaning it evicts the gremlins for a while until the geese gets back in the sensor again. Have to clean the inside of the motor about every 6 months to a year on an 02 envoy with one of the smart motors.

I am not even close to being a mechanic. I can do some basic maintenance and that's about it. I love how Eric tackles each problem by thinking simple and then ramping it up. I think this holds true for any troubleshooting. I'm a front-end web developer and have to constantly troubleshoot browser problems coding errors etc. Believe it or not, these videos have helped me in my methods of troubleshooting. Seems strange for two completely different careers, but the concept is the same. Thanks Mr. O!

Yeah you're right about all that they use that same thing in all kinds of different switches and I think those wiper controls like you said on low is the same as mist well yeah when you missed your windshield it's always comes on low unless you turn it up on high and then hit the switch and I would imagine it's the same wires on each one of those medium and high I don't know though I don't know you're the genius. Eric you stay safe stay well and as always God bless

I just banged out a set of plugs and coils on an oh four Ford expedition with the two valve jobby. They were all original, all loose, severely rusted and burnt. It's a miracle they all came out, new motorcraft plugs went in and it ran perfect when I was done.

I'd have told the owner it was terminal and sent it for scrap. You'd be doing their kids a favour. Imagine just getting over your parents death and that gets dumped on you. Can you turn down an inheritance?

The switch and motor are completely seperate, correct? So if the switch is A-OK, how does the motor come on when the switch is off? No power can be getting to the motor.
