we tear into the front end of a 4x4 2011 Ford F-150. I replace the upper control arm with ball joint, I press out the lower ball joint and reinstall it, along with changing out the CV axle and axle shaft seal

Hey, that dealer probably has a cow listening to Scotty Kilmer. he hates Fords, Chryslers, all GM brands, all German cars, all non-German European cars, Nissans, Mazdas, all Korean cars, and any car with plastic in the engine bay. He only tolerates Hondas and Toyotas. but only the ones they don't make anymore. So, your criticism of certain parts of certain cars is helpful. more so than most dealers in the world.

Opine away! I love to hear them all. I was a Ford lover up until 1996 - then everything went revenue streams with apparently NO SHAME or care for their customers whatsoever. GM has their issues and so does Chrysler. No reason we can call them on all their engineered, preplanned failurs though!

sir, I sheared off the cv axle nut this afternoon (driver side. I was replacing ball joints and tie rods inner/outer, when it sheared. I all still links up correctly and works as expected. Can I go without replacing it? I appreciate your time and advice

Is there only an axle shaft seal on the right side? Or both sides? I know the CV axles are different for each side (1 male and 1 female on the transfer case/axle tube sides. Thanks for the great video. I'm going to dig into this next weekend on my 2014 F150 4WD.

I really enjoy your videos, and I learn so much from them. but seeing the risks you take with not wearing eye protection makes me cringe. oh yes I was the same, maybe worse. but I seen the light and now I wear protection.

Mark's truck, F350 Super Duty, would get it's special attention on a Saturday so if we needed more parts, Napa was open. We didn't have special tools, but had most the sockets and BFHs.

Hello Eric, you recommend the ttx ball joints, have you tried the mevotech ttx upper control arms or mevotech hub assemblies, was inquiring your opinion on those part's? Thanks from Dayton Mn.
