Eric great video point taken mode 6 interpret data plus thoughts from experience. now thats said the truth that was not said; first these manufacture's need hospital Beatdowns; no spark plug should be recommended to be changed at 70 or 100 thousand miles; second they have planed obsolescent down pat they don't want there cars on the road longer than 5 yr. 's any longer than that on a vehicle used daily let the malfunctions begin and even sooner on the shopping cart model crap. LOL; ;; plus you pulled out a motorcrap spark plug look at the plugs breaking off in 5. 4s they should have been held to fix every one of em that merc Eric was working should have been tuned up years ago

Thanks for posting. I finally resolved a lean codes problem with my 2000 F-150. It still has the shudder like your vehicle in this video. The shop owner suggested that I change plugs before doing anything else. It ran with lean codes for 10, 000 miles dumping an unnecessary 25% extra fuel. New plugs and coils 10K miles ago and it only happens the first 10-15 miles of operation and then goes away. The final culprit on the lean codes (there were several issues) was a MAF sensor that was sending bad data to the computer. Now, off to change plugs and see what happens.

Great video, Much appreciated, I have a similar issue, No codes and a fist fight in my engine when going up hills (load. I had plugs changed, but I don't think they checked coils. The interesting thing is that it doesn't do it all of the time and it's tough to reproduce. In the beginning of your video you mention it's hot outside. It's my understanding that on Fords especially, this will show up when hot and under load.

We would take a pencil and draw a line of carbon down the side of a spark plug on a mates motor bike. ( pull the cap draw the line, put the cap back on ) The affected owner / rider stopped being an ass when he had to resolve why the bike wouldn't run.
Also this can be applied as a wire from a coil on the negative side to create a kill switch ( short to ground.

Had cylinder 6 miss, replaced plug and coul, now no code, but still misses under load. Miss monitor doesnt show anything abnormal, but misses all over if given enough time. Switched weak cylinder coils and plugs, but doesnt change the firing graph. Fuel injector data seems good too. Any thoughts?

Intermittent conditions with any car is a Technicians worse nightmare. This is a science field and just ask yourself how many times the space shuttle blew up? That was a billion dollar aircraft and you are going to tell Technicians that cars are perfected?

Great videos. learned alot fixing my cars!
Any recommendations as to the most useful budget reader or OBD scanner tool. Would like it to be able to identify cylinder misfire/coil pack issues. thanks
