Junk cap& wires dont work on these engines. NGK wires, with factory cap & rotor will save many headaches messing with junk aftermarket parts. The reason I dont recommend factory wires is because Nissan cheeped out with junk replacement wires for these engines.
Distributor bearings are common to fail after 100K on these engines. A new Hitachi costs the same as the junk reman garbage out there. Ive Been a Toyota, Honda, Nissan tech for almost 30 years. The best running, highest mileage V6 Ive ever seen was one of these Nissan engines. Though theyre not the easiest engine to service they were tougher than woodpeckers lips. Injectors did occasionally fail but it wasnt epidemic after 2000. Knock & O2 sensor failures were common. Still a hell of a V6 though as far as longevity though. I serviced one regularly that had 600k original miles and still never used a drop of oil between 5K changes. The owner traded and the local Nissan Stealership put it in their showroom for screwing new customers.

Around 30/years ago I was messing with my bosses mind and he blew up them realized I was just screwing with him and felt bad. He was the shop boss and worked on equipment. I was the truck mechanic. But I also do gas stuff no one else there did anyway the next day when I got to work there was a new spark tester he bought me. It was slick it had a pickup in it. the size of a pen and no leads you just touch it to the plug wire of a running motor and a little window would flash green faint but easy to see.
The bad thing is some ass stole it and I have looked for a replacement for it forever. Are you aware of those spark testers? I really want to replace it because as you know unplugging a plug wire can clear a miss. Plus with the tester I never got bit checking a miss

Awesome video as always brother! Sorry just now getting to it. been getting slammed in our shop with everything you could imagine. Our end of the world is a city with roads over 20 years behind on maintenance so as you can guess. I am rebuild suspension systems on many vehicles lately after the winter weather. among other things lol. Look forward to catching up on your videos and hope your having an awesome week! Peace

Mr. O. Your gonna have to start wearing a white lab coat, and get your self a pocket protector, maybe one of those welding helmet style magnifying glasses. Lol. all the technical stuff, got it diagnosed with out taking anything apart, or even getting your hands dirty, seems anyone in the country would be lucky to have you working on their cars.

Could you do some sort of video on how to use the equipment you were using here? I've seen you use it in several videos over the years and the shop I work in wont take in or let us work on anything like this so I cant grow as a tech. We pretty much just stick to brakes, oil, tires, ball joints, and alignments

I played your interaction with your wife about five times. Each time I was laughing. Then I played it for my wife and she was laughing as well! Your wife calmly deploys the Socratic method when interacting with you (excuse me? I was screaming? I was saying what? you can't hear.
Hilarious!

Hello big fan. I have this engine in my 1999 qx4 and after plugs distributor, injectors and wires I get p0300 and a miss once the vehicle is warm and at red lights wants to die? Could my timing belt be stretched or off a tooth looks like previous owner did the job. Any help would go along way

Thanks for this video! seems I have the exact same issue with my 01' Frontier 3. 3L. #2 also. Saving me, a DIYer a lot of time and money and frustration. I hope. Will be getting into it next week. If this works I would happily send you a couple bucks in appreciation. Do yo have Venmo?

i have an 04 myself and trying to find a shop that i can take in and get a quote to fix the front suspension is a btch, also i replaced the plugs and wires and valve cover gaskets and that number 6 plug is a pain to replace cause of how far down the back of the engine it is

You used the terms suck, squeeze, bang, and blow for what you need for an engine to run and I 100% agree but I've always used the acronym to go fast you need F. A. S. T. and that is fuel, air, spark, and timing. Great video appreciate the info.
