Big Nasty Gets Defeated!

The Astro 4980 (AKA Big Nasty) has been one of the best and most powerful air hammers I have ever owned. So far nothing has stood in it's way until today. Replacing the pads, rotors and rear wheel bearing on this 2014 Ford Taurus gave it a run for its money!

Now this video was a very good one, And being i just did the same brake and Hub job on a 2010 ford Flex And let me tell you i got a ass whopping, I looked up and down for a Video on YouTube on this job, and found alot of videos on how to do it but didn't work for me and they were all funny I also looked on your videos and didn't see anything and now i know why, You called it Big Nasty Gets Defeated and that's why it never came up, and i kept thinking it was my Age I'm getting old, so the Son in law came over to help me do the other side, and he got a butt whopping also, LOL One thing i have know for years Steel and Aluminum don't love each other, FYI we did most of what you did up to the puller that i don't have, Thank

I worked in SoCal and never saw any of this corruption!
Good thing those vehicles are THERE and I am here. well ---> I moved to Montana and now maybe I'll get to experience the Smoke-Wrench Mechanic's School of Repairs.

Eric, I love your show! I am not a mechanic, but you make most jobs look easy. Honesty, persistence and thoroughness is what you portray. My question is: I bought a 2015 Subaru Forester (Subaruski Forest Star. 37K, Love it so far. What is the general opinion of this SUV?

I just learned something new. .. The cut of the file refers to how fine its teeth are. They are defined as (from roughest to smoothest): rough, middle, bastard, second cut, smooth, and dead smooth. Like you, I always thought bastard was a type of file.

Hate when this happens! Fortunately its not too often. I keep 2 long bolts that thread into the bearing and use my air hammer on the bolts to push the bearing out from the back side. Works quite well! If this happens to you I would recommend trying it

As many times as you drive down that same test road you auda have the city put the STOP signs going the other way so you can make better time. Like the police cars do in the small town which
I grewup in. Just a thought

Yeah corrosion and steel and aluminum combine not a very good combination. You are definitely one smart cookie for not being in front of that that's almost like the damage I've seen people do with strut replacement

I used my astro 78830 this weekend to pull off some VERY stuck ATV hub (and bent it) and knuckle; had to apply heat as I have no air hammer. Then I used it to re-bend the hub to fit the wheel.

I had an orthopedic doctor in the Army one time come to my maintenance shop and ask for bastard file. He didn't like to surgical files for grinding down bones not aggressive enough. True story.
