GMC Sierra: No Horn

I have a look at a GMC Sierra that came into the shop with a complaint of no horn. However, that was it, all other steering wheel functions worked and no air bag light on. Didn't take long to run down the real issue. rpavlik1: Jeepers, that aftermarket remote start is a hazard to repair folks! Starting when you hit lock too many times? I've hit lock on the fob in my pocket with the car in the garage. Yikes!

Eric, where do I find info on what perimeters (milliamps and such) I can test with a multimeter on the hub and bearings on my 2005 LeSabre? Also, the wiring on body side, does that on, y accept signal from speed sensor and transmit it to the PCM or does it send an electrical signal?

Its weird, I categorize his videos in the physical work ones and the diagram/diagnostic tool ones. I like the physical work ones better, I don't have to think too hard when watching. But there are only so many brake job videos he can make.

I've noticed over the years that you have really polished the outros on your videos Eric. Be nice to see you do another day at the shop especially since the extra hired help should allow you to do a more indepth recording of the crew.

I was on the interstate drumming on my steering wheel once, and when I slowed down (it was a noisy interstate) I realized the horn was stuck on. Pulled the fuse, shared by the wipers, and it didn't rain even though I was in Seattle.

That a shame if it was actually installed at Best Buy. I used to do car audio/alarm install for them and company policy was to solder everything when it came to security and remote start, T-Taps were a big no-no.

Always hated doing under dash work. Hard on your back and neck. I used to install air conditioners in escorts at the fort garage. Learned to be a contortionist and to buy pain meds. LOL. Good video bud

What do you want to bet whoever installed that remote start messed with it? Maybe they disassembled more than they needed to to get to the wiring behind the wheel and pulled the whole thing off.

At least I didn't have all the oil drained out of it. I had to restart the video because I was laughing so hard. Ask me how I know. It wasn't so funny at the time though.

My first video I watched from you was the power steering pump in your Hondu Ridgey. You did that one outside in a farm yard. I was a fan since then. (I have a Ridgey)
