I show you the process I use to replace the transmission valve body in Subaru with the TR580 CVT trans. This one goes on top of the transmission and not in the pan. It would be nice if Subaru made just the lock up solenoids available instead of buying an 800 valve body

This will be a very popular video for those with CVT Subarus. It is a fairly common issue and wish we had access to your video when my son had this code thrown. The service manual scares you by wrapping the entire bay in sammich wrap that the new body comes with, for instance. I like this style video. It is entertaining to watch you do start to finish jobs because of your comments. Just keep the humor going. Thanks, Eric.

Hello from Aus. Just wondering in regards to your scan tool. Are you just looking up a subscription 'autodata' website on the scantool for wiring diagrams etc or does the scan tool come with a subscription to this data? I use a older snap on scan tool which doesnt have a web browser at all but good to know when start to look for good replacement

Isn t the biggest issue with the CVTs (Honda/Toyota/Subaru) that people take the lifetime fluid thing a little bit too seriously? Toyota has been using them for lots of years with the Prius and more recently the Corolla and they ll still last hundreds and hundreds of thousands of miles.

I'm fine with the stunt double long as you still get good video of the repair actually being done. None of that video edit, bam jobs done, garbage. An explain what we need to know, and what we don't need to know, and what we thought we did know, but really didn't know. You know.

Eric, this is great format for showing the skills of our favorite master mechanic. It s like being the lead surgeon calling for the scalpel, sponges and forceps (so to speak) and allowing the intern to clean up and close. Dr. O. I like the sound of it!

as long as you keep showing any issues in the process and how you use logic to solve. want to learn since I am a novice and it will help even thought I may not be the person doing the repair. at least I can ask the right questions.

Thanks for the math lesson. I appreciate this type of video. Your style of business owner is great to see. All of your team doing their part to make SMA a shop to trust. Thanks for doing what you all do!

Your content is great. true variety brakes, diagnostic, tractors and large window of model years. Keep up the great work. Enjoy all your videos especially the ones that include food. LOL.

Sounds like a great idea, As long as it does not make it more difficult for you and your mechanics.
Stick us on a tripod with extra zoom so we don't get in the way too much lol.

Keep'm coming. New format is fine as long as we get your sage advice and much welcomed honesty (sarcasm) as the work is being performed. And, it's ok to see Jay look you in the eye!
