Dodge Dakota: No Start After Clutch Replacement Peter: At my shop, I once had Two yes TWO Trainees. I had them working on a Simple Brake Job. One on the Passenger Side, One on the Driver Side. Easy? Nope. Passenger Side Trainee forgot to Torque lug nuts on the Wheels. Driver Side Trainee forgot to put the bolts back in the Front Brake Caliper Bracket.
Yes. I test drove it and had to walk three miles back to the shop.
It was only a mile, however I had to turn around Three times to get over my Insane Desire to Commit Homicide when I got back.

I have a a Dodge Cudda and I can't set my 6 pack just RIGHT
Oh I was dreaming!
I have a nasty Nissan
Water pump went out.
Sending unit wasn't working. Did not no at that time, motor stopped on road. Put new radiator. Timing belt. water pump. Three weeks ago. I drove it to work first week. Drove great until it got warm. Put on code reader crankshaft sensor. Changed that.
Still rough After it gets warm. Code says TPS. checked it. Have 5 volts so I said no and tried to clean and set.
Drove around. Got warm and runs rough. I get pissed and nail it to the floor. 1/4 mile from home. Running bad and quits coast home.
Haven't got it to fire since then. ?
Crankshaft sensor was shorted out. Changed it and new plug in, melted it. The new plug was off something else but I had same resistance with it plugged up or unplugged? Don't know if I put wires on right side of sensor? Didn't think that mattered?
I still have no fire out of distributor? I give up. Help from above please?

Had a new truck driver (18 wheeler) with the same company load right next to me. I noticed a bunch of oil on the right side of his brand new truck. I asked him about it thinking he was about to blow a turbo or something. He said quote it has a massive oil leak at about 3gal/day (on a 11gal pan) for the last 2 weeks. He was headed to the yard with his load. I had him open the hood the cap was off & hanging by the chain. I asked did you forget to put the cap on the last time you filled it? He said quote there is no cap for that. it has a valve right? I said no and showed him the cap. Put the cap on and leak was fixed. Apparently the shop didn't put the cap on 2 weeks ago and this guy was adding 3gal everyday & never saw the cap dangling about 3 below the filler tube.

Back in the 90's we had a Town & Country minivan come in on the hook. The lady had the transmission replaced at another shop and according to her the van quit running a few weeks later. The dash was lit up like a Christmas tree so I plugged the scanner in but there was no comm with the PCM. I started looking at the harness to the PCM and noticed it was hanging down. I put the van up on the lift and removed the driver's side wheel. When the transmission was replaced the main harness wasn't secured back into place so it was hanging down onto the CV axle. Over time the axle rubbed through all the wires. Took a quite a bit of time, but I was able to repair the harness and get it secured back into the OE clips. Needless to say the lady was pissed.

When I was just starting to drive, I purchased some windshield wipers for my first car which was a Dodge Valiant. For the life of me I couldn t figure out why my original wiper wasn t coming off and my father reluctantly agreed to assist mumbling something similar to I ll probably just break something with my luck so he couldn t get the wiper latch to disengage and decided to grab a screwdriver to help with the leverage and when he started to pry, the latch popped like it was supposed to, his screwdriver slipped and banged into the windshield which started cracking upwards very quickly. We both laughed so hard and he felt so bad. I ll never forget it.

My truck would not start for a month and I could not figure out why dodge dealer was booked solid and I had it in another shop to find out what was wrong they could not find the problem they took it to the dealership to get them to look at it I got the phone call and went to get my truck back it was a 69. 00 bill for a five amp fuse for the Ecm I had blown it trying to wire up my dash camera and had touched a ground and didn t know it I had gone through the fuses twice and didn t catch the blown one I guess I didn t think a little 5 amp was so important it would stop the truck from running

The speedometer on my '03 Jetta failed. Dealer told me I needed a new transmission speed sensor. My normal VW mechanic immediately asked: Do your backup lights work? . Huh? It turns out that some idiot was playing with an aftermarket backup camera (sheepishly raises hand) and shorted out the signal from the reverse lights, blowing a fuse which causing the speedometer to quit and the low fuel light to come on every time I made a left turn. Trust VW to overcomplicate things and make a speed-sensitive gas gauge.

Starts but high pressure pump screaming (Direct injection, like solenoid wasnt getting power, on a 19 titan with a 5. 6 threw me for a loop once. Checked power and ground at the solenoid and it existed. Put a 40 amp light bulb on there and it could not carry the load. Ended up being the fuse not fully seated. When I inspected the fuses in the fuse panel initially I missed it. Pushing on the fuse and feeling it seat about 1/4 inch down gave me that fuzzy feeling and wouldnt you know. runs great.

I replaced a bulb in my beamer that was too bright, blew the fuse. Didn't have a test light, so I pulled them to figure out which one it was.
If you know anything about the 3 series, the fuse diagram tells you what it is on one side, and where it is on another side.
Well, being a little wet behind the ears, I pulled the without putting them back, then put them back in the wrong place, fixed the light but now I have a no start.
Yeah. that was 300 down the drain.

Still it was educational and I like to see the tools you used for that. I once replaced a fuel pump on a 1980 citation and didn't notice the push rod that made the pump run was there and then slid out of the engine while I was getting the new one and after I put the new one back on the car didn't start and then I saw the piece on the garage floor. I put two and two together and put it back inside the engine. I wasn't using a lift so it wasn't easy to see under the car.
