Buick Encore: No Start After Getting Gas! FrugalPrepper's: I've replaced a bunch of those. I also replace the oil feed lines to the turbos on these guys all the time. They run right over the exhaust manifold and get carboned up from the oil baking inside of them. I have never done a turbo on one that the oil feed line hasn't been plugged up.

I bought a new 1984 Crossfired Fuel injected Camaro Z28 that would run rich and sluggish after a hot soak (driving it for 5 miles, shutting it off for a few minutes, then restarting it. Being a Master Technician, I scanned it, and found a faulty canister purge valve. Our shop had them in stock, but since it was still under warranty, i sent it back to the Chevy dealership for replacement. I told the service writer that it needed a canister purge valve. They gave me a loaner car.
I didn't hear from them for a few days, so I called the dealer. I was told that they had parts ordered for it and to keep the loaner a while more. Well, weeks went by, call after call, still working on it. I went to visit them on my lunch hour on day. They had the cylinder heads off and the camshaft out. I was furious, i told the Technician that it needed a canister purge valve. He told me that he just started working there and this was his first job, my Z28! After 63 days, i get a phone call and was told my car was ready. I picked the car up, drove it 5 miles, waited a few minutes and restarted the car. It ran rough and blew black smoke out of the exhaust, just like it did 63 days earlier. The purge valve was never replaced!
Needless to say, i was pissed. I called the GM zone rep, met with him. We worked out a financial settlement between the dealership and myself. All that for a 14 canister purge valve, jeez.

Awesome vid!
I appreciate the steps you point out, purge and vent and explaining the data.
In trying real hard to make sure my grammer and spelling is proper. I knoe how much it gets to you.
Gotta love those engines, gm should provide a free spare. Do away with spare tire and stuff an engine in its place. I make decent money swapping them out.

Good show.
Recommend purge, vent and canister due to mileage, Had many GM (all makes and models) come back months later for filling issues due to canister failed (particulates entering the Vac Line and Jamming the purge valve (Dont forget to clear the lines of you might have to replace the tank, (Rollover valves get clogged and wont vent the tank)

Man, I was really betting the PCV valve was stuck open, another notorious 1. 4 crapotec issue. Thanks to GMs genius idea to integrate it into the valve cover, the normal 20 dollar PCV valve turns into 200 for an entire new valve cover

Look at that, Eric has one of them piana things. Also I hope those deer heads are the inflatable ones. I can just imagine Erics kids running around the house saying: what'd ya do with the deer's head, CHOP IT OFF!

That purge valve reminded me of a woodpecker while sitting in my tree stand, bow in hand watching the sun come up and hearing the woods come alive. Those mornings are the best. Be well guys.

Those turbos are trash. I have a 1. 4 in my bay right now. The waste gate port inside the turbo cracked internally, causing exhaust to completely bypass the turbo. Hence the common p0299. Junk.

Hahahaha guy had car issues. Got on Google. They told him to change the pipes in his house but for some reason that didn't fix his Car issues so he brought it to you.

A pro mechanic at work, testing the purge valve with the solenoid diagnosis tool:
SCREWDRIVER HANDLE. A phone call and everything was fixed. Hail The King.
