Honda Odyssey: Broken Spring, Bad Axle & Front Brakes Mike: Another great job done at SMA! Thank you for the tips and of course the entire video! This ole Hondoo's gonna do great for another 10 t0 12 years or until the salt/rust claims it as on of its victims. The salt on that inner splash shield was stuck like glue. Reminds me of the late 1950's though the 60's till Sept 68. Then came 4 years of the USAF. The shields in the late 50's through the 70's were sheet metal and not long lasting. Come on, you got 3 kids! LMAO!

Yeah those anti drag pins are a pain I always put the top bolt in first also, guess both our me-maws knew the same tricks. I usually just hook a bungy cord on the top and strap the other end around the lift arm to hold the caliper. Anyway always appreciate your content and always looking for better (easier/faster) ways of doing jobs and you ve shown me a lot. Thanks bud, look forward to the next one!

Same brakes I m running on my 2011 corolla, akebono is a very good quality pad, and I ve run centric rotors also, my first set went over 60k before a seized pin smoked a rotor, did a full brake job again but now 20k later the rotors warped so I guess centric is abit hit and miss sadly. But far as the pads. Cheaper then oem and no complaints with brake dust, noise, or excessive wear

Hey Eric coulpe of things I seen boy what ever they put on the roads in winter is accsentuated on this vehicle &Those spring compressors scare the crap out of me I still do mine manually on the ground that way if they slip they can fire out with me behind them. MY mechanic says he'll do for free but by the time I take them to him I can have them done. Cheers.

Cracking babies loose, and Mother of Pearl! I have a 40-inch breaker bar in 3/4 inch with an adapter to use 1/2-inch drive sockets. So far, I have never needed it. I have had great luck with my 25-inch breaker bar and matching 1/2-inch ratchet. But every piece I work on knows Big Burtha is waiting in the wings for a shot at the big time! Stay safe!

Saw you pointed out the access holes but sorry to break it to ya, it isn't JUST for accessing those bolts. It's also so a mount can be attached for an engine support hoist. Little three legged post that lets the engine hoist sit above the cowl. Also means they don't have to pay that extra labor for warranty R&R when still under warranty; )

It's 7: 15 p. m. on a Sunday evening in California, I should be watching some TV show or some movie or some other crap, but I'd rather watch Eric work on a car to where I'm learning absolutely nothing cuz I've done it all before to tell you the truth I'd rather work on motorcycles than cars especially Rusty ones what a nightmare.

I soak the sway bar link threads with penatrating oil before removing the other bolts to help lossen the rust then I put a plumbing pipe cleaner in a drill and run it over the threads of the sway bar link and it breaks up the crud stuck in threads and then nuts nuts come off without binding up on the threads

Thank you Mr O. For the antidrag clip part. You know Honda told me my 09 Honda Odyssey is not equipped with them. So thay won't put them on. So I told them nether will you be putting on my breaks. I was only having them do them because I was down with a Hernia. Still got it done myself

Job I did just before Christmas on a hyundai tucson top bearings had gone on near side so changed both with screwed up back after car accident 2018 dam near killed me holding the spring unit while trying to get a nut located up top. Great video as always Buddy

Instead of a broken spring a rusted lower spring perch allowing it to push down the strut tube onto the tire. (Happened to a friend of my son fortunately on a pleasant warm day near the house) Otherwise, the same general repair.
Enjoy watching your videos.

I have used the exact same spring compressor at work and those springs aren't too bad - the real big ones with only a few turns are real nail biters! I use vice grips on one of the lower holders for extra safety - I have seen one wind its way out

I am so excited to maybe see what manner of shenanigans the dealer just dumped on your doorstep. However I most certainly do not envy you and I give my most sincere condolences: P
33: 55 dear god you slayed me with that one

My experience with those rotors in the salt belt was not good. Rusted to crap and warped faster than a politician pocketing a bribe. Chinee metallurgy, where quality is a foreign word. I hear they make pretty good balloons though.
