That would fetch quite a bit here if not too many dents and the interior is decent. No one pays attention to rust here and you'd be amazed how often people don't even thoroughly test drive a vehicle. That thing would have the minimum done to make it ride somewhat okay for a few miles, underside spray painted over the rust, then sold to some sucker at a buy here/pay here lot for 3995. 95 with 500 down, 200 a month, and 28% APR.
No inspections and no consumer protection beyond new car lemon laws. Buying a used car in this state is hazardous.

Show him how it's done Eric! If you think people would get upset about using a hole saw on plastic, they would have really been upset for the lifehack none on the old Monza Spyder V8. When you took it 2 Chevrolet for a tune-up the bill was for pulling the engine just to get to the spark plugs and distributor I guess it was very expensive from what I hear us old fellows we just took a hole saw to the body wherever the spark plugs where and created a hole and put a rubber plug in. No harm done and no bill at the Chevrolet dealer that's for sure.

A couple of vids back there were a lot of comments about used parts. This one hits me at the same spot. Especially in today's times, there are a lot of people just barely treading water. Yes, the truck needed much more than this. But until the frame gets a lot worse, this will get them to their job and that is critical when buying another vehicle is not possible. No, I'm not in favor of death traps on the same roads as me. But sometimes you just have to fix the things that would have you walking.

First SHOUT OUT to your Snap-On guy, for not upgrading your prybars for ya.
Next your a smart man realizing B-E-A-U-T-Y sells so putting Miss O on as many video's as possible priceless.
Drilling those cut outs, thats an upgradeand weight reduction so you should be charging a bit extra.
Lastly showing the concrete makes me wonder how many people it has helped over years.
Keep up the good work

That poor Chevy is looking forward to retirement and probably already has its space reserved at Wilburts U-Pull-It of Bath.
To Eric. In your experience, what vehicle built in the last 15 years or so (if left untreated in the rust belt) is the least rust prone as far as the undercarriage? Not that I'll rush out and buy one, just out of curiosity since I also live in and work on rust belt vehicles.

Weather is going to get cooler; I call that climate change, happens every year around this time.
My dad had a theory about why the years go by faster when we get older; when you are 1 year old, one year is 100% of your life. At 25, a year is 1 twenty-fifth of your life. He said that at 90- a year is 1 ninetieth of your life- and the years go by very fast! He made it to 92.

Let's face it Mr. O you are the star of the show.
But on this episode it was both of you that were the stars Mrs. O holding the camera and you Mr. O working on another rough bucket.
And Mr. O just to let you know Mrs O was right about that cap not staying on, after all she's your wife and you know everything has got to be done the correct way and that is Mrs O's way.

The rust in NY must be more forgiving than the rust we have in PA. lol If I was doing that job here and tried to turn that upper bolt out with an impact gun, the bushing would seize to the bolt and spin around until it ripped the frame pocket off and left a big hole where the frame should be. Good job Eric.

I am a state and ASE certified Master mechanic from Michigan. I think gm should have to recall the frames on the seira and silverado. I have seen these frames rot out before the vehicle is even paid off. I believe they are dangerous on the roads. And yes I love these trucks but these frames are ridiculous.

I live in the Ohio rust belt and my 2005 Chevy truck is a rust bucket waiting for the frame to break. It s a farm truck so it s not on the road much. Would not trust it for an everyday driver. I have about the same year Toyota tuck and it is holding up way better than the Chevy.

Have a question totally off the subject but is automotive related what is your knowledge of summer/winter gas? How can it affect engine performance? Is it still being used today? Have seen your videos on summer/winter tires thought you might have some info. Thanks

Good video of an old rusty car, those mods for bolt removal are something the engineers should have included in the first place. Now we know what Eric uses for a floor jack. He better watch out this is like a state job with 2 supervisors behind one worker.

When Mrs O hasta step in as director, producer, and cameraman, she should be able to yell action! . then Cut! and whatever else they say on a set.
Plus, I didn't think that frame was so bad. there was at least 2/3's of it left! Concours ready!

That notch should have been included in the mold. If I owned this truck and had to do this service no question I'd pop the hole, it makes no difference to the function of the plastic splash guard and isn't even visible when the wheel is on.
