This video made me very happy. I was looking at a 992. 2 Porsche Targa GTS and an M 4 Comp Cabriolet. However Porsche Melbourne were somewhat disinterested in selling me a Porsche whereas BMW did everything right to get me into the M4. As a Porsche owner. I would have thought the GTS would have slain the BMW. BUT NO ! !
It was so close I found it almost unbelievable ! And as others had observed if Matt had played the game more honestly at best out of 3 he would have lost. I noted also in winning the brake test the M 4 was on normal iron brakes not ceramics !
To me the BMW M4 won that test !
And as others have noted the BMW can carry 4 adults you can't say that for a 911. So now I am a BMW fan ! !

The gearing on the porsche is giving it the edge on dead even launches those first 3 gears are crucial for inching that nose out in front. But an Mc4s doing a 10. 7 and a m5cs doing a 10. 9 makes my head spin.

BMW has a track record of underrating its engines, and dyno tests often reveal more grunt than advertised. For instance, a 2023 M4 CSL (also rated at 543 hp) hit 596 hp and 531 lb-ft at the crank on a dyno.

Porsche is Porsche, and by that it would be my choise, despite being a Bmw owner, but if the M4 CS was a hatchback with a real boot, I would have chosen the M4.

I think Mat told Nick to slow down a bit because the Porsche is not allowed to lose. The first two race the BMW was gapping and then suddenly it couldn't. Shenanigans I think.

After 5 drags the combined margin of victory was less than than 1 car length. Talk about a dead even matchup. They need to be tracked to determine the true winner.

When you realise that M4 CS is 50k euro cheaper than 911 GTS.
Not to mention that you can literally buy any M3/4 xdrive, and do a safe remap, it will be even cheaper.

M4 looks better, sounds better and nearly out performed that porsche on every race. Good to see a nice looking bmw, that is stunning. The porsche is just a porsche.

I’m a Porsche fan but 600cc less and no hybrid system, better sounding exhaust and wins the brake test by some margin. Clear win for the BMW really.

In the US, 4 GTs are almost $200, 000. With tariffs added on top of that, it’d probably come out to around $250, 000. Not buying it.
