Hi Mat, first of all there is an error the MK1 has 450nm and not 480nm. second thing the MK2 is more complicated than this because there is the first MK2 367hp 465nm, the second 400hp 480nm at 1700rpm and the third with opf 400hp 480nm at 1950rpm! So in this video you tested the last one with opf the worst possible MK2. The MK3 has no chance vs MK2 400hp no opf!

I had a little play with an 8Y a few weeks back. Mine is the PFL 367bhp model a stage 1 MRC (425hp, the 8Y had no chance. Il have the advantage over the 8Y for a little while, most owners wont want to invalidate their warranty

Considering your have to pay 20k more for the new rs3 for a car that's 0. 2 seconds faster your better off getting a mark 2 and saving all that money! Spend some it on a remap and yoube got a faster car and alot more money

It's a shame that the mk3 wasn't a hatchback model, because everyone knows that the sedan model is always a little bit faster (if you compare the same generation sedan vs hb) than hatchback.

Here's a tip to watching Matt Watson and Carwow. Skip till about the middle of the video if you actually want to watch the race and not a bunch of irrelevant blabbering!

The big benefit of the new one is on the track with Torque Vectoring, it's much more dynamic in corners now than the previous ones (but they are still nice cars.

Have you considered that in high speeds aerodynamics can play a role? The sedan might have better aerodynamic and it might explain it gains difference in higher speeds.

I love the current RS 3, but something about that 2018 RS 3 makes me have a soft spot for it and still looks modern today so does that 2012 RS 3, nice and modern

i have a question. i do know stuff about audi and the RS3 but maybe some people know more.
Does the mk2 also have the torque rear (drift) function?

Love the oval tailpipes on the new RS3 s! But there s something about the MK1 having the two tailpipes on the side which does it for me, looks epic!

well I'm surprised that the number plate on the newest rs3 is the same as in the shmuseum so basicly the rs3 saloon is a former shmuseum team car
