I am not a huge fan of BMW and the plastics that are a real plague under the hood. But one thing can't be taken away from them - they are a leading trend setter in terms of everything. The concept of the company is driver involvement, rather than a relaxing travel.
On top of that, they were amongst the first who realized that SUVs can actually be fun to drive, fast, and beautiful.
Their presence became so powerful in the recent decades, that Mercedes had to change their strategy, in order to keep up with the Bavarian giant. And that's respectable.
Regarding these 3 models - the X1 does not deserve to be in the same league with the other two. The GLA is a great car, but to me it seems like a lifted A-class.
With all my respect to AUDI, the Q3 seems not on par with the highest class. You can get a higher class RAV4, Mazda CX5 and X-Trail for the same amount of money. And that's after they've re-designed the car. Honestly, if I am after a boring vehicle, I'd get a Toyota - far more reliable, cheaper and easy to run. And if I have to choose something from VAG, my choice will be a Skoda Karoq/Kodiak - both offer outstandingly comfortable ride and features for 1/3 less.

I'm gonna get the X1 2018-2019, and not very good in dealing with car dealers as they see me as some easy target (due to looking young. Wondering what price i should settle for in usa? I really like this review as helped me made up my mind. I'm guessing total including tax etc. Is truevalue site pretty accurate to go by?

Disagree. Drove all three for some time and the GLA was much more comfortable and seemed to have more grunt.
Also liked the shape and design better. BMW was like riding in a horse and cart. harsh riding. Audi had no electric seat on passenger side and seemed less luxurious overall.

Test drove the Q3 as I'm saving for the SQ5 and was considering it. a more economical version. but. I test drove it an no. Nope. Never. It felt slower than my current car a 2012 for fusion with only 175 hp and the steer by wire just felt so cheap. like a toy car.

As BMW's age - they can be very pricey to maintain. Since I - DYI most maintenance / repairs - I discount the labor hours. I've found the Mercedes is cheaper to service. BMW is pricey. Audi is OK - when I have the choice of Audi / Porsche / VW for parts needed.

Yup I have this X1 with the leather seats so sweet. Drive so smooth the mileage goes fast but of course it goes further on miles than an average crossover. Panoramic sunroof. I drive with precision. I love Mercedes e320 too!

Mat for sure talks shit for the Mercedes for no reason. The gla is by far the better car as it-s not a -real- SUV so the things he compared were all SUV based, but for a car in general gla is the best by a mile

GLA 100%. From the alloys to the body the car looks balanced and interior is beautiful. The BMW X1 looks like a body builder who doesn't train their legs and the Q3 reminds me of a beetle.

I-m not really an Audi fan tbh I-m more into my BMW-s and my Mercedes, the only Audi-s I like are the RS-s & your Audi R8s. I-m a massive fan of the Mercedes A Class and the BMW X1 2019.

I spent 2 months yanking my hair out deciding between these exact 3 cars (also the Volvo cx40) I ended up going with a brand new 2022 X1 coming in. I hope I made the right choice
