In 2018, I compared Superb Style and Passat HL R-line, and what annoyed me in Superb was materials and cruise-control lever. After driving thousands of kilometers in Superb, I totally hated front seats. After even hundred km behind the wheel I felt really tired and so did person sitting next to me. Back seats might be better designed, I do not know. Overall Skoda's interior feels purposely cheaper than VW, and that's where Skoda lost me. Exterior of Superb is actually very nice, but R-Line does the trick with Passat, so I choose Passat. So far, I like Passat's handling, comfort and specially the economy of newest diesel engine. I have not tried Audi, but I guess it is slightly different class.

i get it with the skoda and those cars have come on in leaps and bounds, but i still love me vw, s and the passat is super reliable car and i just like to a good engine 2. 0 TDI ect ect 140 bhp is superb and great mpg and super super reliable, never relly been an audi fan to be honest and if im honest i don, t like the feeling of the front foot wells when you sit in them your left leg feels tapped up against the tunnel from the gearbox to the dash its annoying for me, in the passat its not like that one bit, i still think the passat is more reliable in the cars mine has been very very very good, for me its vw passat estate every time as im a big fan of estate cars.

Well, I have the Passat 2. 0 TSI (280 KM) with all the bells and whistles (AWD, adaptive suspension etc, it feels comfortable, but when I drove an Audi A3 some time ago. even thought the suspension in Audi was stock it felt a bit better than DCC. I've also noticed that the soundproofing in A3 felt much nicer.
I just wonder how much better it is in Audi A4 or A6. I paid quite a lot for the Passat 2. 0 TSI 280 4Motion, I could buy an Audi A4 for the same price - obviously the spec would be worse, I'd get a smaller engine and less goodies, but in the end I think I'd have a nicer-feeling car.

Can you compare the A4 to the Superb. I thought the A6 and Superb share the same chassis. And I have to disagree with you on looks. I think the Superb looks far better than the Passat.
PS I have a Superb. I took it for the luxury (SE L Executive. I can carry the in-laws, their lapdog, two very large dogs, a dog push chair for the lap dog. We have a tonne of room, it's very comfy for long journeys to the sea side.
Curiously, I've never noticed any road or wind noise with my 2. 0 DSG Superb (it's a 2018, which is the same mark)

The conclusion was really poorly thought out. -if you want luxury you get the Audi, if you want space you should get the Skoda. VW is the best at nothing-.
That's viewed through the eyes of a journalist who only drives -normal cars- for 5min at a time and drive demos for free the rest of the time. Everything is a comprise. Nobody goes to buy a car to just do one thing really well.

I don-t know why people still call Skoda the budget brand? I know it had the reputation but today, the Kodiaq is way better and feels far more premium than the Tiguan. The Superb and Passat are so identical in terms of quality. What-s so budget about what-s basically the same thing with a different badge?

I think the superb is the most posh looking.
The passat is deffinitly the least posh of them. both looks and feels cheap.
But the audi of course is most posh inside: ) but skoda is okay to but not passat.
But outside the superb is the bes looking

I am the greatest fan of your lovely narration and presentation as well as your funny comments and wonderful British accent. However Audi, BMW, Mercedes and many other car manufacturers are not using Google maps. They use maps produced by HERE Technologies.

For the value, Skoda all the way, the space in that thing is absolutely incredible. One of the reasons for me to keep driving skoda. Plus, the infotainment system keeps getting better in and doesnt lack anything for me personally anymore.

Dont think the a4 is in the same category as the other 2 as they are the bigger versions of the estate where the a6 avant would be more suited to compare, a4 belongs with the Octavia and golf estates of similar size
