Vauxhall (Opel) Insignia Sports Tourer Estate 2018 review - Mat Watson

The new Vauxhall Insignia is here. The old one had plenty of space, strong equipment levels and great cruising ability, but it wasn't exactly desirable. With the promise of sharper styling, posher quality and more fun behind the wheel, will the latest model be any better? How does the Insignia - reviewd here in spacious Sports Tourer form - compare to the VW Passat and the class-leading Skooda Superb? Find out in my in-depth review

Recently hired a Commodore Calais Tourer and was just horrible. Sucked petrol, was cheaply made, controls were so convoluted for a German engineered car. Only decent thing was the transmission. And that was the only plus. Typical GM crap. The old Commodore of yore was a much better car. Yes maybe not as refined, but that was the point. A SS V with the Chevy smallblock V8 used less petrol by far. Was shocked at the 3. 6l V6. Was rougher than a Cruzes I4. Not a good thing. Usually Mat is on point with his reviews, but this was, not sure what happened. Just a horrible car.

I feel like commenting because this video has been dormant for 3 years. I think that's pretty indicative of Vauxhalls in general and how irrelevant and uninspiring the cars are. I moved to
New Zealand in 2017 when the NZ Police were starting to adopt the Insignia as the new -Commodore- for their patrol cars. Holden going under wasn't great, but the Insignia was that shite that they skipped the entire GM brand and brought on the pre-facelift B8 Superb.

What does it matter if it is a vauxhall? I bet some vw/bmw/audi owners are watching this or have watched this. This day and age, cars are not far off each other. (except top spec cars. As long as it does the job. Gets you from A to B. Practicality win these days. And, we got to admit, it is a beauty. Vauxhall have gone a long way!

I had one on hire recently, thought it looked amazing but was disappointed by small boot, uninspiring drive, vague ultra light steering, terrible brakes, noisy cabin, no anti glare adjustment on rear view mirror. A 2012 Mondeo is superior on all these points. Obviously fewer gadgets but more likely to keep you awake.

TL; DR; -Matt hates Skoda Superb, because of it is better-
3: 25 here matt confess clearly he hates -Skoda Superb-. When he wanted challenge -Skoda Superb-, he compared it with BMW M760Li also was complaining about yeah rear legroom is huge so what comment then here 2: 19 he says -s class size- wooow.

In Australia, Holden (gm) are importing these into our country and trying to sell them as the new -Holden Commodore- which was a v6 and v8 car that was built right here in Aus.
Due to Holden-s attempt at rebadging this imported Opel as a Holden Commodore, they have sold hardly any of these things.

why the endless jokes about the name Sports Tourer. Never hear you crack any jokes about Audi Avant or Jaguar Sport Brake? But good review which you like a lot about the car, yet when reviewing the hatch version, you do not share your own praise of the same car. odd.

One great thing about Vauxhall-s is the driving position. You-re always sitting nice and low and behind the wheel. Other cars especially estates you always feel like you-re sitting on the car. Only problem Vauxhall-s is the cheap GM quality.

I have no idea what this car is I've never seen one in Malaysia where i am and i watch thousands of car reviews every year.
But this car has the best looking design I've ever ever seen. And i hate wagons

I have the old top spec version. It is a heap of poop. Ive had endless trouble over the last two years. I have just bought a Skoda Estate tour de france 4x4. On another level, enough said
