Tip from an Auris driver: never, ever use the horn. A mobility scooter horn is ten times louder. A clown's car horn gets more respect. In a really scary situation (involving, say, an 18 wheeler, like the one in the film Duel) it's probably safer to jump out of the car than try and get the other guy's attention by using the horn.
Other than that, a fantastic little car!

My 2003 Corolla 1. 6 petrol never lets me down. Basic maintenance and this is it. We just did a 800km trip in two days and the car is 100% fine. Not the sportiest, nor am I a racing driver. It just gets the job done. And the ride is smooth, seats are comfortable and its overall quite good. Engine can be dull but rev it up to 4000rpm and its fun to drive.

Except there aren't better cars that are better. My 20 year old Yaris has never had anything other than brakes, tyres, filters etc replaced. Even has the original clutch. No point saying -other cars are better- when they aren't built like Toyotas. You know what car is the best? The one that runs with a non general maintainance bill of zero.

There are people who care about 2 things: Reliability and cheap maintenece. They are the same people who buy Toyota. Nobody gives a s--t about touch screen and acceleration. I-m one of them. I don-t need cutting edge voice commands. All i want is a cd
player that never fails. Greetings.

It's so obvious this presenter is paid by the German car manufacturers to say how good their cars are. He trys his best to rubbish the Toyota but we know that their R&D budget alone is bigger than Audi and BMWs put together, resulting in a far more superior product.

Hey Matt Toyota Auris has launched a new 180 bhp model getting released next year in Europe really looking forward to that review.
Still waiting for your review on the 200 bhp Toyota Yaris.
It seems like Toyota has some exciting cars in the pipeline.

Toyota is the biggest automaker in the world. Yet the cars they sell in Europe have a terrible interior and the most ancient infotainment system of them all. They have no business competing with VW in Europe. That's why you don't see them so much on the road.

If you have the glass sun roof head room is terrible. I'm not -that- tall (190cm/6'3-) but with the drivers seat in the lowest position my head touches the roof. Leg room in the drivers seat is also not great. All in all, not a car for tall people.

I like the Auris but the engine range in the UK is pathetic, if you want a more powerful engine you are forced to buy an Avensis which is a bigger more expensive car with higher tax, Toyota sort your engines out they are pathetic.

Depends on where you live. Where I am from it is priced very competitively so it goes against focus and ceed. Ceed looks best focus has the best infotainment and is great to drive but auris has great engine/backup camera combos.
