I've owned 2 BMWs in the past. While the rev up may sound tight with lots of ooompphhh and good turns, the car had been nothing but expensive headaches to maintain over the years. The car has an aura of coolness with the public but lots of owners are frustrated beyond normal inside. I'd decided to switch over to Toyota's Sienna SUV which is not a sports candidate but a real pleasant joy to drive and barely any maintenance. I own a VW camper bus too (for camping) but the drive feels like a 1960s style clunker, nowhere close to the ease and comfort of the Sienna. It's like night and day. Nobody notices you in a Sienna but as the owner, you're, as their ad says, -Lovin' it-.

The car is beautiful. The screens may be clear but I prefer a screen that is integrated into the dash rather than sticking up. Also, I think the graphics and displays of other cars are nicer such as Audi. The look of the climate buttons-and I like buttons- are pretty bland. Same for the climate control. The glass nob is not for me. All together, this takes some of the -wow- from a beautiful and also expensive car. Its worth noting that Audi has duel center screens. Do any other folks think like me?

Lack of lumbar support has lost BMW 3 sales one X5 a 530d and an x3, we didn-t have time to wait for a special order at the time! Believe me it is the only reason we didn-t buy as I have a bad back and need the extra support on a long journey, otherwise I love them! Shame really as I would say that the penny pinching of leaving them out would probably be covered by my sales alone.

Don't even think to buy this junk with bunch of problems. The biggest issue that BMW is spying on their customers without they knowledge through remote connectivity. Recently my friend was voided warranty because based on information they collect by spying on the vehicle all the time.

Matt, The BMW X5 is listed as the number 1 most unreliable vehicle during the past 10 years. Is the new ZF 8 speed automatic gearbox reliable? In Ireland BMW are battling a serious law suit due to not abiding to its warranty guarantee. Is the new Toyota highlander a better buy?

After driving this and the new GLE back to back, this is best in class hands down unless you want more space in the back seat. The merino leather and interior quality in the X5 trumps the GLE450 hands down. I wasn-t expecting that much of a blowout with the X5 but it is

OK, Matt. What are running costs of this monster? I know you only test brand new cars that don't belong to you but some of us are buying these cars with our own money and want to keep them for 10 years or more. Thanks. For example, how much does one new run-flat tyre cost?

BMW is not reliable. The turbines break down, the timing chain breaks, the cardan shaft often fails, the valves on the intake manifold in the engine fail, the high pressure pump fails and the injectors and the supply system are destroyed. The most unreliable cars are BMW

Been trying to use the app to configure a X6 but you can't see which Option Pack gives you which features pretty useless and majority of deals that come back are with standard features. Carwow needs to update their app to allow users to fully customise a car.
