There-s no denying that when it comes to small SUVs, you aren-t short of choice in 2019! But what if you-re looking to spend a little over the average and treat yourself to a posh small SUV? Mat-s brought together three of the most luxurious small SUVs that money can buy to put them through their paces. But which would you go for?

I've had the XC-40 for exactly one year. I have the T-5, and although I didn't particularly want or need the AWD, here in the U. S, it's impossible to find a T-5 without AWD. This also means that MPG isn't stellar.
I have the three drive modes. Comfort (default, Dynamic, and Eco. When I want more aggressive handling, I switch to Dynamic and this is where it's really fun to drive. My only complaint is the odd placement of the button used to switch drive modes.
I would prefer a tighter handling in curves as was noted in the Audi; however, overall handling is excellent. The seats are as comfortable as those on our XC-60. I can drive the XC-40 for hours in comfort, absolutely essential when driving California's agonizing I-5.

This is a year old. i have the 2021xc40 r design, and i test drove same, including Lincoln. The Lincoln has the luxry interior, by far the best. However, i chose xc40. easy choice. Lincoln exterior is better than bmw, audi, but overall the xc was my top choice. Driving in eco mode is great, so dynamic and comfort is an additional plus. Interior is above basic, not luxury, like inscription, but sporty, which fits the design. The bmw reminds me of a short station wagon, and audi a bigger car( crossover. XC looks like an suv, but drives like a luxry car/suv/crossover, so i feel like i have the best combo. Also, the packages are priced nicely. Great review. thank you.

I have a 2021 X1 BMW, before this I had a 2014 X1 BMW that I traded in after 140k miles. Never a problem. I like the X1 because it has very good acceleration, handles very well, is easy to control in rain, snow and ice. I especially like the cruise control and the self-imposed speed limit warning - I set mine to 85 because it is very easy to lose awareness of speed in this car! The cost here in the US is also very reasonable, around $40k with a discount if you finance.

It would be interesting to review this test with the cars having done a few miles. My 2017 X1 xdrive25d Msport with 22, 000 miles is a bag of spanners. Worst car I have ever owned for build quality, rattles, creeks, squeeks, numerous mechanical and electrical faults. Wished I had kept my 9 year old Skoda Yeti, which had been flawless.

You that's what great engeniring is. You make the infotainment like the one in BMW but keep basic functions through the buttons and knobs and you keep analog dials because everything digital is just pointless. Pure fashion nothing else. And that AT gearbox in a BMW truly is the best of all three.

It-s a persons personal choice of what they want out of a car. Comfort, Sporty or just an A to B car. If you want all-in-one then it-s the bigger versions upgrades and spending more money. However, you could find what your looking for in all of these cars, it-s your choice.

Can you do a similar test for the Motability SUV-s in their standard specs? I really enjoy watching your shows, but as with everything, you are usually driving the apex-s up models which tends to make it harder to pin point a replacement vehicle still.

I drive an Audi A6 and it is quiet, smooth, fast, sporty, and luxurious. I drove a Q3 as a loaner while they did my service and I wasn-t as impressed as he is. But now that I-m on the market for a small SUV, I-m going to check it out again.

I own the XC40 & I love it! Mine is white with a black roof & it has floors they call Lava, which are like a burnt orange & they give the illusion of space. Plus, the safety of a Volvo. Win/win
