When it comes to family-friendly performance SUVs, you-ll be hard-pressed to find a better option than this new Tiguan R. The question is, with a price tag of -46, 000+, is it really worth it? Well, Mat-s here to find out! Sure, at first glance you may think it-s a regular family SUV, but once you peer a little closer, you-ll see there are a whole host of upgrades to be found! Starting with the outside, there are a number of styling updates to be found, from a roof spoiler & quad-tailpipes through to 21- alloys and tinted rear windows! But of course, that-s not all. The interior is plastered with blue R stitching and badges, and once you peer under the bonnet, you-ll find a 2-litre 4 cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that delivers 320hp & 420Nm! So what do you think - is this the perfect car for handling the school run?

I think this Tiguan is horn. Waiting for it to come to OZ next year, and I'll take one with leather thanks. My mum has my previous RSQ3 (very first edition, -only the 228kw /305HP- one. I got very ill, left work and she bought it off me as I could no longer make the payments, well, it was a noose around my neck, which worked out great as she wanted to move from her low car to something that sits up a bit more. She hammers it a bit too LOL. She's 75 and takes off in it and I find it funny. The 5 cylinder in it is magic and I want to get it chipped to match the current ones and not tell her, now that it's out if warranty (bought 2014) ----. I know this isn't the same thing, but VW much cheaper than Audi here, and will give me a lot of that magic power feeling back for less cost. Plus, once warranty is out I'll work the living shit out of it. BTW I want the blue, and hoping the Leather has blue stitching. Has to be an SUV for me because of my back, I can slide right in, otherwise I would have got an RS3 as that was always my little dream hatch. Hey, I'd get the new RSQ3 if I could afford it, now it has the same engine specs as RS3, but it will be about 30 grand more than the Tiguan, so, I'll be right (AUD.

The Israeli occupation is now bombing cities and civilian neighborhoods and displacing civilians from their homes without any right. For this reason, we ask you only to search for the Palestinian cause and support them with a word from you to achieve justice for the oppressed Palestinian people.

I can tell you 'the point'. If you need a family car, and you're almost 2 metres tall, and the Mrs wants an SUV, but won't let you ALSO buy a 2-seater for 'really driving'. then what you need is a sporty SUV - or maybe that's just me. Perhaps I'm a small market section, but it's nice that I'm being catered to!

More Junk to go wrong! and adds more to the cost of the Vehicle. After having 2 VW Vehicles with problems with Stop/Start & Assist Braking and putting me in Danger! I will NOT BUY a new Vehicle again! Till you can Opt out of these Junk and not have a vehicle that is connected

I love this car i got the regular one and i have no regrets at all. The color options are fantastic. Mine was moon grey everyone had been complimenting my car and it feels good. Also, the gas mileage is quite decent. Cant wait to see the next generation!

Mat, i love your videos but you really really need to add the trap speed info to the 1/4 mile tests as this will indicate rolling acceleration (what we feel on a day to day basis). in my opinion, it doesnt give the whole story without trap speed.

here in my country in europe you can avoid the cheap seat fabric because you can get every VW R car with Nappa leather. expensive tho. more than 2000-. Here you can also get the false floor but as an option, which is a bit unnessasery

Matt has been a man best friend during the last 2 years when we were in lockdown. I have tried to watch other car journalists but none of them compare to Matt. Well done mate you were born to do this job -

Why do VW like producing sporty SUVs? Why can't it be just something practical and comfortable for both the driver and the passengers? I own a VW, but I'm moving away from them.

Whats the problem with the R in a Tiguan? Audi do the same with RS, BMW with the M, Mercedes with the AMG, etc etc etc. This car looks amazing, with a fantastic performance.
