Rivian R1T review - 0-60mph, 1/4-mile & off-road tested!

This is the Rivian R1T, and it just might be the greatest pick-up truck in the world! So what makes it so great? Well for starters, it's powered by 4 electric motors to deliver a delicious 800hp & 900Nm of torque! What's more, even though it's super-heavy (weighing 3, 100kg, it still has a claimed 0-60mph of just 3 seconds! However, while the performance is great, there's still so much more we love when it comes to this pick-up. For starters, the design is utterly gorgeous. Sure, it looks like a standard pick-up from the side, but at either end, you'll find two full-length light bars, while the headlights have a properly futuristic look. Once you step inside, the Rivian really sets itself apart from pick-up competitors. Not only will you find high-quality, vegan-friendly materials throughout, but there's also a huge infotainment screen up-front to ensure the cabin looks as clean and minimalist as possible. The one we have here even has a wood-trim effect! And if that's not enough, you can have a camp kitchen accessory installed that comes with an induction hob & sink built in! So what do you think, is this a Cybertruck killer? There's only one way to find out. Stick with Mat for this all-new in-depth review!

Looking at Rivian-s website for this truck, it-s the -latest fad- to say -vegan- leather seating? This is the second time I-ve seen an electric car video that mentions -vegan- as leather seating. I guess saying faux leather wouldn-t gain the attention of the woke liberals to blow $71, 000+ (US dollars, R1T with the Adventure package)
Quite comical to see the Left strangle oil production, while pushing these ridiculously expensive vehicles. Don-t think for a second that what corrupt government is doing to oil can-t be done to electrical energy to power your car. And where is all that plastic coming from that goes into this vehicle? The sky?

If Rivian eventually launch in the UK it will probably be with the R1S SUV rather than this pick-up. Very few people in the UK buy a pick-up unless it's for their business and the R1T's payload is well below the 1000kg required for it to be classed as a commercial vehicle for tax purposes. The Ford Ranger Raptor has similar problem. I know a lot of the younger farmers round here love the look of the Raptor but would never get one because of that small payload.

Not a single person is talking about the range you-ll get while towing, which is usually what trucks are used for. Max towing capacity probably cuts your range in half or more. Battery efficiency just isn-t there yet. Not to mention the lack of charging stations and long charging times. Not saying we won-t get there, but right now EV trucks simply do not compete with combustion engine trucks.

Looks like a really well thought out vehicle. But needing to use the centre display because of the lack of buttons is something that would and should annoy most people. The kitchen thingy is really clever but I bet it costs a lot of money. I do wonder why most people need a pickup since I guarantee that 95% of the people who buy this thing will never take it off road ever.

65-70k for one isn-t in many budgets. Nor is the gas tax you-ll pay upfront and if you want a quick charger it-ll be about 3500-4000k. No tax credit will negate all that folks.
I love the truck and own the stock but this EV stuff is being crammed down our throats as big auto stops making IC cars. Yeah no chip shortage y-all they-re all being used in EVs. Good luck.

There are lots of good features but that front end looks like it was designed by a 7 year old, but pretty good for a first try. I want to see how far it gets with a UK farmers overloaded 3. 5tonnes of bullocks. Too fancy inside for site work/farmers/utility people though. Emptying 800kgs of ballast to get to the spare isn't so hot.

This vehicle is fantastic. I just hope they stick it out and are able to increase production without losing quality in order to get a foothold in the market. I'm hoping to see them in the United Kingdom shortly. However, considerable research and development into weight reduction is required for electric vehicles.

I love how nobody ever tests the fact that at max payload you lose 1/3 of your range. Or at 0C you lose 1/3 of your range. We got our Hummer all the way down to a fully charged range of 91 miles whilst towing 4 tons below freezing. Hardly the gasoline killer.

3. 66sec 0-60, 12. 14 in 1/4 mile. 3 hours to recharge. Think about it.
Watch Doug DeMuro's Video at minute 27: 27 for a drive between San Diego and Carmel. only a 9hr 45min charge in three 3 hr stops. How much time are YOU worth?
