When talking about the possibly better tech of Tesla I wonder why so few are mentioning the downsides or the sheer lack of tech. As I own a Tesla M3 SR+ from 2021 for daily drive there is a lack of (working) tech that is astounding and sometimes dangerous.
I'm happy with the car and it does a lot of things right, but things like automated windshield wipers could be considered tech - and the Tesla is totally lacking this.
The windshield wiper automation/ activation is a nightmare. Most of the time it's completely useless. Even when the car is covered in heavy rain it might not work. I never experienced this on any other car.
The adaptive cruise control is kinda bad. The car is doing a lot of phantom braking or will get close to other cars much to fast before braking abruptly and afterwards taking ages before accelerating again. Another downside is the not heated radar that will refuse to work in winterly conditions quite often.
This leaves the car without any kind of cruise control or -Autopilot-.
As far as I know the BMW i4 has got a heated radar sensor. At least it's predecessor got a perfect working windshield wiper automation.
Also the voice command in the Tesla M3 will only work when the mobile reception is good - which is sadly not the case in Germany most of the time.
Again: I like the car and what I really love is the one pedal driving - but tech also relates to simple features as windshield wipers. Nevertheless the value for money is great with the Tesla.

Model 3 more tech? Ehm. Sure the i4 is more expensive but you get heads up, automated tow bar (none in the m3p, kick sensor, adaptive dampers, gage cluster, Sun roof if you prefer one that can be opened, adaptive laser lights that kicks teslas ass. Cooled seats (with better support as well, not that Tesla seats Are bad. Rear climate control. You also get dash cam (however not sentry mode i think. Heated radar and cameras. The driving assistanse pro is probalbly not as good as tesla, however you have to pay like 10k) to get all features of autopilot. Id rather have all the TECH in the BMW than pay for useless software --
Ive tried both and the BMW is quieter. I have ordered an M50 however if the m3p had tow bar i would probalbly just go with that. I actually liked the ride in the m3p allthough most ppl testing both prefer the Comfort of the i4. However still considering cancelling the BMW and opt for a long range and boost that to 3. 9 sec and add manual tow bar. The TECH in the BMW is actually quite Nice though and that hatch is better than m3s boot and frunk combined

It's odd that BMW had been losing market share to Tesla and were several years behind Tesla getting a small coupe to the market. And somehow they STILL didn't make a better car.
They had the Model 3 as a target the entire time. They knew what they were up against. And for some reason they still released a slower, less efficient, and more expensive car.
If I'm BMW, I wouldn't release an electric car until it clearly beats the Tesla. Otherwise, it just appears that I tried my absolute hardest and still couldn't compete. .OR that I was complacent enough to settle for something that's just. close. to a 5 year old car.
Neither is a very good look for BMW. Also. fix that hideous grill. Yuck.

So heavy and not a frunk to benefit from the straight six compatible bonnet. BMW is simply not even trying. The much larger Model S Plaid is lighter by a decent margin, due to more sophisticated design everywhere a consumer doesn't care to look.
I get sick of blind hype of anything Tesla, but why won't other brands at least try? And why are there zero reasonable stationwagons in EV? My street is full with wagons. What are people to get as a next car? They didn't go SUV before and most seem on the short side anyway. Why don't EV makers, new and old, care about customers' needs?

I am actually really annoyed that I took my time to watch this video. Next time you should add a warning in the titel of your video's that this is nearly a paid (sponsored) video by Tesla haha. Every good thing about the BMW is actually bad, and a clear winner (for example the interior and what is going in with the extra knee space for the Tesla hahaha) is maybe just better in the Tesla. The range on the BMW (as you can probably imagine) will of course (like the Tesla) get better over time when people (like you) are not just flooring it all the time. Overall a really bad comparison.

Tesla: Better efficiency and charging network (which is soon available for BMWs too) and maybe price depending for which model you go for.
BMW: Better on everything else.
People transitioning from Skodas, VW and Fiats will find Teslas amazing. People that used to own high quality cars will not.
That is why i am selling my Tesla and going back to BMW.
And yes, the iconic sounds in the BMW is a gimmick. Much like the video games in the Tesla. Any self-respecting gamer would never sit and play in a car.

Gotta think about what energy source, and what by products / pollution it took to make the electricity to charge up those cars if you're a tree hugger. Also. think about the materials to make those cars. AND the car / vehicle you drive if you're a tree hugger. If you drive a wooden buggy with a horse to pull you along. well shame on you for the methane pollution from you means of the animal pulling you along and for cutting down the trees for actually making your means of transportation. Just sayin guys! Lol!

Such a pointless comparison.
If all you care about is performance, efficiency and range, Yes Tesla will be the EV for you.
If you think interior design, exterior design and overall car feel and drive is important, every other EV (in that segment) will be the better car for you.
So god damn bored of comparisons of Tesla and other cars. They always differ on the exact same stuff. If you are not a car person, great get a Tesla. If you are, and efficiency isn't everything, pick something else.

Correction, you can change the amount of regenerative braking. Also pro tip, regarding hands on the steering wheel detection, I blip the volume rocker up and down one tick rather than jerking the steering wheel back-and-forth. I found this way better. I have owned the model three performance for a couple of years and just love it. Tight handling on twisty roads combined with 0 to 60 of 3. 1 seconds make it a fantastic car to drive. Agree with all the other pros and cons of this review.

I don't agree with the tech part. A few years ago the Tesla would have won, but now BMW offers a lot of things which the Tesla doesn't have such as 3d view, head up display, laserlight, two phone connection etc. on top of features which Mat pointed out that the tesla has. Also, some things are really annoying in a Tesla such as the navigation and missing apple car play/ android auto. This is rather a draw for me than a win for the tesla, depending on people's preferences.
