This is the all-new Rolls-Royce Spectre! Based on the looks, you d be forgiven for thinking this is a replacement for the Rolls-Royce Wraith coupe. You see, the V12 engine is GONE, and it s been replaced with two electric motors! That s right, this is the first Rolls-Royce production EV! So let s take a closer look at it. For starters, it s big VERY big! At over 5. 5 metres long and over 2 metres wide, this is officially the largest Rolls-Royce ever created! But that s not all, the huge backlit grille is also the largest fitted to any Rolls-Royce. It ll come as no surprise that the interior is super luxurious. However, unlike other manufacturers that have used a new EV to try out a whole load of new tech and style (We re looking at you, BMW iX, Rolls-Royce has kept the interior of the Spectre very similar to its petrol-powered compatriots. It comes with the same air vents, physical controls and central touch screen as in the Ghost! Of course, there are a couple of differences, such as the ability to extend the starlight headlining down to the side of the doors. In terms of performance, of course, we re sad to see the loss of the glorious V12! However, it s not all that bad. The Spectre comes with two electric motors that combine to produce 585hp and 900Nm! These help it sprint to 60mph in just 4. 5 seconds - that s quicker than the new BMW i7! Christian: You give so much shit to other EV brands for having a grille yet this model has the widest grille ever fitted to a Rolls-Royce and its fine that there is no front boot because its considered a British car, innit? Well done, impartial motor journalism at its finest.

Not having a front trunk or any kind is fairly last, imo. Even Kia/Hyundai have something in theirs, as small as they are (good for emergency tool storage. Either it's lazy, or the components under good aren't small enough to admire the space. Still, if it could have fit a v12, could have fit a storage area. Even something cool, like a motorized drawer, I dunno

No word on how big the battery is, though. It has been speculated in the past that it could borrow the 102 kWh lithium-ion pack from the i7. We will learn this at a later date and right now all the automaker is saying about this is that the vehicle will be able to travel some 260 miles on one charge.

I disagree with the title purely because it's only got 2 doors.
Nothing luxurious about having to pull yourself out of the back seats past the front seat without getting caught, while people look on wondering why you couldn't afford a 4 door version.
This generally applies to all 3 door cars

Rolls Royces are too tense for me. everytime I'd drive them I'd think about how scared I am to crash it. Bentley Bacalar wouldn't do that to me though, I'd feel like I'm driving something one in a Million.

2975kg? Add in four lard-ass rich gits and their luggage and you will need a C1 licence to drive the damn thing. Lovely car but some of these EVs are getting ridiculous weight-wise.

where as a silent, magnificient V12 takes a lot of effort to make. This 400+k car uses a powertrain technology no better, no more advanced than a family sedan from a company in Texas.

Why, oh why, at this sort of price point are the wheels not handed? Those on the left should mirror those on the right, rather than being the same wheel on each side.
reply

I don t quite like it, maybe the colour is the point. Idk. I love those cars but this one does not turn me on that much, which should be the case for a Rolls Royce.
reply

Since it has no engine, I don't see the point of having a long bonet. They could have shrunked it and instead extended the cabin space for more luxurious interior.

350 kg heavier than the other very heavy Rollse Royce's. Not good at all. I know that Rollse is not a drivers car, but this is over the top. Tractor for sure.

Shit that RR makes. These same. people cry pollution and they produce the most pollution. if one wants to learn Hypocricy, learn from the west esp UK and USA.

3 ton unladen weight, 23 inch rims while being an overly complicated sofa on a milkfloat.
Yeah that is how the rich spend money on, absolutely tasteless.

i don t mind the idea of a rolls ev due to the fuel powered ones being made as quiet as possible already so you re not missing out on sound really.

Matt should print All this means that the new Spectre, has a drag coefficient of 0. 25 cd on his t shirt and wear it when he reviews this bad boi.
