Ford built the quickest accelerating production car ever. The Ford Mustang Super CobraJet. Get one of those and test it. Dodge has made that claim since the original Demon. I sold for Ford here in the USA. A production car does not have to be a street driven car. There has to be at least 50 made. 0-60 in 1 seconds.
Guinness were also reported in some sources as saying that at least 50 identical vehicles were needed to be made to constitute a production car but several models which were built less than 15 times got certified for production car records. [9][10] In February 2014, Road & Track wrote that Guinness required 30 identical vehicles. [11]

Any other car and the specific 'prepped' requirements for the claimed times would annoy me. On this particular car, everything about this car is built for extremes, for pushing limits, for loopholing around regulations, and so on. I'm kinda here for it. And the people who truly 'get it' probably DO spend their time on prepped drag strips anyhow. And really, it's not a whole lot different than an ultra-track-focused GT3RS (etc) on Cup2 tires - just that this car's track happens to be in a straight line with a very specific goal in mind. Cool car.

German cars: let's be honest and measure our 0-60 in the snow on the cheapest tires, running on the cheapest fuel, so in reality it'll be always faster than our claimed time
Dodge: Okay, so we'll measure our 0-60 on the hottest day possible, on a specially prepared dragstrip you never gonna visit in reality, on a super ethanol fuel which is illegal in most countries, and on drag radial tires you'll probably never use on the streets, so, in reality, nobody will ever repeat it

It would be cool to see this hemi engine in a mid engine design considering it's too much power for the wheels to handle and it's why you have to prep the track and get specific tires for it. If they can manage something like that and did what GM did I'm sure that car would sell out tbh. It would be one of the fastest cars you could buy if they pushed it for 100k, it would sell like hot cakes.

That time is one a prepped drag strip, with a 1-foot-rollout.
Dodge says, without rollout it'll do 0-60 still in under 2 secs. Let's say it's 2 seconds to the full 62mph/100 kph. Without a prepped surface on a normal road with road tires I think 2. 5 seconds would still be ambitious.

Hello carwow, i was just curious but why haven't you tried to make any 60 fps videos instead of 30, i feel like it would make the viewing experience so much better on Pc and phones since those usually don't come with features like LG's True motion and such like Tv's do in general.

Lets be honest guys dodge set those numbers on drag strip because thats where EVERYONE should be racing their cars not on the street. And its a slap in rimacs face that a dodge that cost significantly less can outperform it on the drag strip. hats off to dodge what a way to go out.

A lot of hybrids and electric cars unveiled. High-key, only true hope that I have for the car market is that hybrids will continue to prosper. I have my own gripes with hybrid systems, but it looks like it's the best we are going to get for the ICE Fans

So much wasted money, time and intelligence for a ridiculous acceleration number, achieved with outdated technology in a vehicle for men whith small penises. Perhaps it would be funny, if the climate situation would not get more desperate every year.

What happens to EVs in Flood water. ICE car generally float initially. not sure for how long.
EVs batteries are positioned as low as possible.
So do they sink straight away and do they short out meaning you have no power to try and get out

I understand the challenger has always and will always be a rwd car. But if this is supposed to be a drag car awd would be much better. Awd launches much more reliably and would make it much quicker. But like I said it s a rwd car.

On the road that demon will dance like a newborn elk on a frozen lake in high winds. Ahhh just imagine a 35 year old who will trade his F-150 pick-up in for one of these bad boys. Dodge is doing their part for population control.

I don't give a damn how much horsepower Dodge puts in that damn Demon it will never beat an electric car Tesla or Rimac. The thumbnail is misleading, because that was on a prepped surface with slicks and race gas. I call BS.

That dragstrip looks extremely prepared just before the launch of the demon 170, I bet it would be too sticky that one could literally get stuck over that place. But at the end of the day it's a great record done by demon 170.
