This is the Volvo EX30, and it s an absolute game-changer! Now we know what you re thinking - it s just another crossover electric SUV! And yes, it might be, but we think it might have changed the performance SUV game forever! But why, we hear you ask? Well the EX30 may be small, but it can pack a serious punch! When it comes to performance, there are a few options to choose from. You can select a single-motor edition that can produce 272hp, but it s the dual-motor edition that we re interested in, which can put down an awesome 428hp and 543Nm of torque! This makes it one of the most powerful Volvos ever produced! These stats make the EX30 more powerful than an Audi RSQ3, an AMG GLA 45, and a Tesla Model Y Performance. But that s not all - the EX30 is so much cheaper than its competitors, with the dual motor edition costing just 41, 000! In comparison, an RSQ3 will cost you around 55, 000, and the Model Y Performance will set you back around 60, 000! xwni: That it's electric rules it out for me, i'm not getting into that unitl I absolutely have to. The infrastucture is not there, If it can't take an 80% charge in then the tech isn't there either. Nor do I rate the so-called environmental benefits, it just moves the pollution problem somewhere else (manufacturing / disposal / and generation ). I won't hold my breath, but I hope Volvo will go with an XC30 (small-suv) verison of this, less powerful and using traditional engines, but smaller than the '40 series.

Wow, this is very interesting. While there are a few things I'd like to see different like some actual buttons for some basic controls (like a volume knob and some quick access to HVAC, heated seats, etc, overall, this is a very compelling offer. While it's on the small size, it's all the size I need and makes it easier to fit in the garage as well as parking, etc. We'll have to wait and see how the pricing looks when it is out here (Canada, but it looks to be a winner so far.

Electric cars are useless. I say this as someone who s owned 3 of them. Fine around town. Cold weather and long distance you re going back to the dark days. There s no infrastructure, not enough power stations, not large enough cables, they re not that efficient when compared to modern efficient ICEs, they re expensive, and inconvenient. Apart from that, they re ok. Oh, and they sound crap as well. They re like driving a super milk float or dodgem. Junk.

Am I alone in preferring a grill of some kind between the headlights whether it be a false one or not? It's fine having no grill when you're talking about an MX-5 or a Lambo or other such motoring exotica all wedge shaped and slipstream defying. But when you're faced with a flat slab of metal across the front, you can't help wondering if the stylists of all these EV's have taken their design cues from a 60's Renault 8 or such like.

It s not bad looking, but honestly, it looks like the permanent reminder of a one night stand between a Kia in a Honda. It has a few nice design cues, but come on guys. Stop drooling over it. It s so tall and boxy and dopey looking. It needs to be wide and lower and more aggressive. For some reason I just can t look at a Volvo and not see my grandmother driving it perhaps where I m located they are reserved for older women.

Not verry promesing.
Small battery 51kWh with 344km wltp real range 258km (100-0%) or 180km real driving range between charge
Bigger battery 69kWh with 480km wltp real range 360km (100-0%) or 252km real driving range between charge
it looks like it will have the same sickness as it bigger brothers or sister brand, to high consumption
consumption mix 64kWh netto / 360km = 0. 178Wh/km (estamation)

Finally something not based on the xc40 platform like basically everything else.
And then what was the problem in making a normal version with a decent height and suspension travel?
No, apparently we have to buy SUV and have worse aerodynamic and worse efficiency.
And of course worse dynamic and sitting position.
I'm really tired of this shit.

Thought the EX30 isn t released until 2024. Will be interesting if they can deliver it to those specs and price, and if Volvo can turn a profit on them. Bit concerning that so many legacy auto manufacturers are loosing money on each car sold makes me lean towards Tesla who are financially stable and bringing their own smaller 25k car out 2025/2026.

Rs killer? How? Realy? Since when electric crap can kill turbo engine? How? Even to compare is wrong. Sounds like a promotion straight. All electric cars have no soul in it. And its end of the story. My self to be honest skipping 90% of you electric cars videos due to the time saving. I would spit on those cars every of them if i could.

Looks great apart from this trend of horrendous wheel design every EV has these days. Bored of huge flat wheels with triangles and whooshes. I'll take a nice set with symmetrical thin seven or five spokes showing the brakes or a nice deep dish negative offsets. I know it's aero reasons but at average road speeds. It's marginal gains.

Since Volvo started changing their style years ago they just keep getting better and better and this one looks amazing. It is exactly what is needed as well, a high performance, good range, ethical (as in recycled to maybe offset the batteries, and affordable EV. Well done Volvo!

Matt: Volvo just made the high performance SUV bargain of the century.
Yes, they did! Thanks to Geely s ownership.
Cory from Munro &Associates said that a Porsche 911 only costs USD 36, 000 to make. This just means that every single luxury automaker is gauging its buyers.

Finally Volvo is asking a much more reasonable amount for a high performance vehicle.

Lets cote, who xould have predicted that Volvo would build an SUV that would rival as the most affordable EV?
Looking at rhe interior its obvious they are using some Tesla 'Smarts' to keep cost down ny using less wiring and more flat designs

Hopeless car reviewer. Comparing something to a Mercedes a BMW and a Volkswagen all in the same sentence. Anyone who s ever seen a car knows they re in completely different segments. What 8yo wrote your script for you this time?
