So basically this is just a bad replica of the Ferrari 296 GTB that doesnt perform nearly as good and not nearly as reliable since its a McLaren, i dont know how Lambo and McLaren who are giant companies failed so miserably with their new Hybrids when they literally were trying to copy past from the SF90. you literally had a model to take notes from and still failed. Thats like being allowed to open the book in a school exam and cheat while knowing exactly where the answers are and still not passing the exam.

The late engine start its a great thing, becouse it Lets the oil to warm at least a bit, for sure its not fun. But if you want fun start it, thats Why on the i8 as example the engine fails pretty early, becouse you go on electric and then you redline a engine with the oil at 5 degrees. A Performance hybrid car should start up the engine when you think you will Gonna go hard or at least let it idle a bit. Hope that its makes sence what i Said!

I've only driven one Mclaren, 720s. A friend of mine asked if i'd like to go do a track day with him and use his car. The only answer was yes! I was absolutely shocked how fast, fun and predictable that car was. He had done some extra programming, exhaust, intake, wheels and bits so it had a little extra punch. I really hope McLaren solves the reliability and manufacturing issues that are plaguing an otherwise unbelievable car.

build quality aside, the electric to petrol restriction is a bit handy for your neighbours, roll out quietly then fire it up on the highway. pretty handy and convenient for all. i sure do hope the regen worked better. also, i think its about time modern supercar manufacturers started making their dashboards a bit more modern, i think it is convenient to say, a corolla has a better interior than this artura

I hate to say it but for modern supercars McLaren is being bad build quality and Ferrari is making SOME ugly ass designs. I feel like Lamborghini is actually doing great rn, the sto and technica look great and I ve heard drive great, the svj sounds awesome and is great besides the single clutch, and they ve proven they make very reliable cars. High hopes for revuelto

the best way to test these hybrid supercars would be on a track and not a straight line,
i bet, on a track this is slower than it's predecessor, same goes for the 296 ferrari.
these are just sham cars for people who are not really good at driving but manage to race in a straight line with the help of computers.

What's with the click-baity thumbnails lately? Am I the only one that has a problem with it? Best McLaren, best BMW, best SUV, Bugatti killer, Tesla killer. etc. I mean, the X3 review said best BMW and you basically trashed the car. I think you make great content, and definitely don't need the click-bait gimmicks.

McLarens scare me. I bloody love the things, but the fact that every bit the maintenance has to be done thorugh the dealerships, and spares are only sources through McLaren, is a bit off putting. The horror stories about reliability, and their extended warranty running into the 5-6 thousands don't help either.

If this test car came directly from McLaren or from a dealer and was not a prototype: shame on them. These vlogs are advertisment for 'free'. How can they expect to sell cars if they are of such a bad build quality.
If I would be a potential buyer, I would check the internet prior to the purchase.

I believe that McLaren has understood that nobody loves perfect cars. you love cars that are awesome but have some strange annoying things that makes it different. somehow like your wife or girlfriend. they have a meeting. nah. that car is too perfect. make it more loveable.

Cars like this really show how amazing the base C8 Corvette's value is for the money. A C8 Corvette has same 0-60 and 1/4 mile and costs less than 1/3 of this (starts at 65k. Simply amazing.
Even a Z06 is faster, including around a track (most likely, and costs 2/3 of this.

The 720s is a world beating car. This ain't that. I'd rather than a 570s. much more simple, sounds better, and is a bonified great drivers car. It's also much more simpler than this car, and hence, less likely to embarrass you on the side of the road.

With all the hybrid supercars coming out left and right, it just shows that the NSX was ahead of its time.
If I could still buy a new NSX, I would. But the Artura is the next best option, even with a few similar design elements.

Definitely the worst McLaren I ve driven so far. The electric motor system isn t as seamless I would like. The 720S is still the best I ve driven. 600LT is second. Third is a tie with the 650S and 12C. Fourth is the 570S.

10: 30 My 2002 Prius does a similar thing. However, if you step very hard on the accelerator, that mode is canceled and you get full engine power. It's strange that they didn't do that the same way in this car.

For 200k+ i most certainly expect a car that isn't gonna fall apart if i drive it faster than 60mph (that flying buttress demonstration is pathetic.
Great design otherwise. I always liked the look of McLarens.

Is it me or have the recent video quality been iffy? Some shots look like they were done on a cell phone. The content is consistent, the quality of the video is kinda a step back from early days.
