Mat’s got his hands on BMW’s latest family-friendly SUV to find out if it’s the perfect all-rounder, and to do that, he’s going to give it a proper Carwow reviewing! So let’s get into it Starting with the design, there are a couple of notable changes on the outside compared to the latest edition. Around the back, you’ve got new tail light designs and an updated bumper, while along the side there are new alloy wheel designs, and in the M Sport edition we have here you’ll also find black surrounds on the windows, coupled with black roof bars. Around the front, it’s similar to the rear, with new headlights and an updated front bumper. Couple these changes with the hard-edged creases along the side, and we think the X5 is a proper good-looking car! Step inside and it’s a traditional BMW, with soft-touch materials found throughout the cabin. The X5 now comes with BMW’s latest curved infotainment screen and digital dial display, and there’s loads of storage to be found throughout the cabin. The seats are also pretty comfortable as well. There are a couple of engines to choose from. Two 3-litre straight-six diesels deliver either 300hp or 350hp, while there’s also a 3-litre straight-six turbo petrol coupled with an electric motor, that can put down 490hp. However, the range-topper is the M60i, which has a 4. 4-litre twin-turbo V8 that can deliver 530hp. The new X5 starts from around 69, 000, rising up to around 94, 000 for the range-topping edition. So is it worth it Or should you choose a GLE or Q7 instead Stick with Mat and see for yourself!

The condensation in the headlights is now a normal thing for many newly designed cars. I come from the old school where that was a no-no because we all had sealed headlight units. But apparently many newly designed headlight units are not now sealed and therefore condensation does get in behind the front face. The reason I know this is that I have a new Audi Q8 and it suffers from the same thing. The car came with the new lazer lights which are superb. However on an Audi Q8 owners forum we all discovered that we had this condensation and when we queried this with Audi UK they said that it was a normal occurence and was not a problem as the units are designed in that way!

Who actually pays 3 x the annual average salary on a car Are these mostly fleet vehicles I mean that car costs 40K more than my last house and even by today's prices it's half the price of my house now. I own my own little business but there is no way I could ever afford one of these land yachts. I guess they are just Corp directors play things. Would love to see some reviews on more affordable cars.

BMW really are on top of their game and have been for a few years. Many of their cars are just simply bloody good and accomplished all-rounders. They probably have the most complete line-up of any volume manufacturer. Something I can't say about Mercedes who just focus on being flash and in-car tech noawadays. Even the general quality of their interiors is a joke for the price you pay.

I'll buy this over Mercedes Benz easily Mercedes Benz is UNNECESSARY WAY EXPENSIVE YES WAY TOO EXPENSIVE the facelift version of Mercedes Benz brought a VERY VERY HEFTY PRICE TAG across all their models so no can do not getting a Benz. BMWs are by the way nicer looking cars then Mercedes I dont think any Benz is even worth it's outrageously ridiculous price tag.

I’ve rented a X5 45e for a week recently.
I was pleasantly surprised with the car, to the point I started to look for one to buy. I was shocked with the price, depreciation and cost of ownership
Also worth mentioning that the charger standard isn’t the most readily available here in the US

Matts BMW reviews never change: ) if a fanboy of all BMWs does it, its always the best car ever. I still watch it but i would never consider this opinion if i would buy a car, its like a guy that is in love with someone, he will see everything only in good lights.

Matt you need to tone it down a notch, you are becoming borderline annoying. This may be the 3 or 4 video I skip because your character is becoming a bit much. of course I understand this is for the video and I am positive you aren't that annoying in real live.

I drove an M60i the other day, really cool. Although compared to the M50i is not as fun because of restrictions
Edit: you can change the tachometer layout in comfort mode too but pressing one of the buttons on the steering wheel.

The price savings on Carwow will be not the facelift model as shown. Also Carwow is VERY misleading on how the show the prices of extra.
Mat. give it up. EVERY new BMW dash the constant moan about cruise control distance. YAWN.

You guys dont get the 3. 0 i6 gas engine That thing absolutely rips (0-60 in 4. 7 seconds) and still gets over 30 mpg on the highway. Best thing about it is that it’s the base engine in the USA, no paying to upgrade.
reply

Dude, be more gentle with the buttons and things like the blinds in the backseat, why do you have to show off by throwing them all over the place and abusing the buttons when you press them and so on WHY
reply

The 2024 BMW X5, along with 2022 BMW M2 Competition, is undoubtedly one of the better BMW cars recently driven, although still quite off the mark compared to even BMW Concept 1 Series Tii.
reply

No it is not with those 21 alloys and painted on tyres it will not get me to forest bike trails and with that low-mounted engine for better performance this thing is an MPV and not an SUV
reply

This was what I needed. I was considering buying one and test drove it but because of racist service I decided to hold back on it but this confirms that I am going to get this car

Disagree about making air suspension the default. Its more weight and more to go wrong a few years down the line. Normal springs provide a good enough ride for most people.

Do you ever not show your foldable phone I mean loads of people have one. Can you just leave it in your pocket next video Are you contracted to show it every damn video
reply

At that price, it would want to be the ducks nuts. I am not sure I see the value past other cheaper cars, but hey, they don't have the badge and that silly front grill
reply

It can do everything, except for look good. I used to love BMW, but ever since the latest 1 Series was released, I have very quickly fallen out of love again.
reply

I have seen several videos with the mist of headlights on different luxury vehicles, I'm not sure it is regular with them, I guess it's cars for test, not for sale
