I currently own an '88 renault super 5 as a 6km round trip commute car. Cheap to maintain, as just about every mechanic has old parts and knowledge to work on it, cheap to run at about 4 to 5 l/100km, and cheap to insure with a classic car insurance at about 30 per year. Has a new paint job and upholstery and is really stylish. Amazing buy financially, while also turning heads! This would be the perfect upgrade if i eventually get fed up with old car problems.

I think the colour phrase that Mat is looking for is 'blue and green should not be seen, without a colour in between'. Saying that red and green should not be seen together is going to upset the Welsh, Italians, Portugese, Belorusians, Hungarians and Lithuanians; and that's just the national flags in Europe! I think Mat is thinking of which colours are least desirable for clothes on camera. Which are red and green.

Awesome but having worked on its development over the past year you won't believe how LITTLE leg space you get in the back, simply tragic. For any full size human being you get the feeling you kegs need to be chopped off at the knees in order to slot in, but im sure it would be great for child seats! Just a shame when the twingos were all much more spacious in the back despite smaller exterior dimensions

It’s because electric cars are boring & pretty useless at the moment. Face facts unless they come up with a way of charging in 5mins to get 300 miles of range then electric cars are not the future. Nobody wants to wait around at a charging station for 45-60mins & pay an absolute fortune with high electricity prices.

A perfect example of form over function. A decent looking car that's effectively a 22, even kids would have problems in the back. Not really practical as a family car, just a second car for shopping and school runs. Just buy a nearly new ICE car that will do it all and save the expense of owning 2 cars.

7: 30 Matt let me get this straight, Renault engineers in the 70's made it 3 doors because they knew the back seats were for occasional use too because no one fits in. But today's engineers put extra doors on small size cars. Knowing that every day more and more people have access to personal vehicles

As long as the batteries are expensive to replace and charging infrastructure doesn't improve electric cars will not see mass adoption. How is someone living in an apartment flat supposed to charge their car There's usually one or two street level chargers which are always taken.

Not sure how the ID3 and the mini are going to key competitors to this. A small, cheap, retro eletric hatch. honda E or fiat500e maybe. But an overpriced ID3 with massive batteries to make up for bad efficiency or a petrol conversion with a crazy price tag. Er no thanks

EV are crap an the fact manufacturers like volvo an Honda are stopping making them means that its it's all gone wrong all so it the cost of charging them it's the same price as filling a petrol car so now we can start looking at low carbon fuels.

As a ev it seems pretty good, get rid of those terrible wheels and I’m sorry it’s not like the original, it’s like a vague thought of it, it should be its own car. If it was actually shaped a bit more like the original it would be fine.

Looks great, but not very practical at all. Poor space in rear and range disappointing plus chargers speed not great. Design of interior good though. After the initial hype for this car I’m left looking elsewhere.

Sadly, it’s French and worse it’s electric It just couldn’t get any worse. Well, at least no one is going to try and nick it, so it will be safe as houses to park anywhere, even unlocked with the keys on the seat

Sucks at winter time, need hours and hours to charge, price, cost of parts are insane even for some plastic bumper and cost of new battery is almost 80% of the cost of new car: . F. K electric cars.

Honestly I feel bad for the Renault dealers slightly, they produce the most desirable car they have for probably a decade, but hardly anyone will actually want to buy it cause it's fully electric.

Caving into the narrative is ridiculous. Build ice versions. You are NOT saving anything. In fact just the opposite. Cool retro styling and nod to the original though.

Renault 5, Citroen eC3, Dacia Spring, upcoming new Twingo, - seems like french brands are going to take over the market, not chinese brands like everyone thought

They did a good job keeping the design near to what the concept promised. Best looking retro car in a while. As this is also reasonably priced, it could sell quite well.

Don't get so excited about the ability to feed electricity back into your home. That is designed so that your electricity provider can remotely draw on your battery.
