The 5. 9L v12 in this car makes about the same power as a modern boosted 3. 0L I6 these days with about half the tech. Hell it had barley more power than the M3 of that same model year with only a v8. Its astounding how much more power were making for basic cars only about a decade later, but even more astounding is that Aston Martin thought they could charge 200k+ for a car with less than 500hp in 2010. tf Britain?

I remember when I was younger, I went into a super high end luxury car dealership with a big, beautiful white Rapide on display. I thought it was amazing. We looked around, blah blah, and as we started to leave, a guy in a suit came in and said to the people at the front that he wanted that Rapide. He got it, as I saw it driving out behind us as we left.

Fun fact from Harry Metcalfe of Harry's Garage. the Rapid actually has some weird issues with the design of the door sills. where to get in and out, the back of your calf scraps across the lower part of the frame- which if it was raining out -gets whatever was on the frame onto your leg/pants/dress. it is especially bad with the rear door.

can anyone educate me on how the car taxes work in america/canada? in my country, we get taxed yearly by the engine displacement. though a second-hand rapide is really cheap, hardly anyone would dare buy one because of its 5. 9L engine [equals really heavy yearly taxes]

Endless money pit! First thing to break; window motors due to rolling up and down every single time you open and close them. No back up camera in an almost 300, 000k ultra luxury crap? How cheap was Aston Martin trying to be back in 2011 Smh!

11: 27. My Volvo XC90 has a fine leather strap to close the rear as well so who cares. Plus I have a split tailgate and lift gate system. Also at 17: 00, you didn't mention that the engine is basically 2 Ford Taurus engines put together.

Hey Doug, I just wanted to let you know that Aston Martin still sells the Rapide, though now it is only sold as the Rapide AMR sport-focused version. They haven't changed the design much, though the interior is somewhat updated.

New cars are so much more interesting to watch from Doug's reviews than old ones, unless the reviewed old cars are rare and exceptional in some way. You are not an used cars sales man, are you, Doug?

Tbh doug's critique of back seats never really adds up when he's an oversized 6 foot something male, the average person would fit fine in these, him being tall causes an overreaction.
