The Lexus LS600hL is the ultimate Lexus luxury sedan. Today I'm reviewing the Lexus LS600hL to show you why it's so great -- and I'm taking you on a thorough tour of the LS600hL to show you all the quirks and features of the LS 600hL. I'm also giving a driving review of the Lexus LS 600hL

2010 acquired a used non-hybrid non-f-sport (f-sport didn't exist then) LS 460 version a month after I rented a BMW F10 528i (I think it was a non-turbo 30. l i6) because I realized the springing, like how they rolled through bends, was similar though the BMW had better relative damping. That was surprising for me - the BMW was an el cheapo rental with none of the suspension options. But while the chassis of the Lexus was as soft, though progressive, to control on the limit to the point of leaning on the sidewalls, the variable gearing steering was as annoying as BMW's was at the time as well. I never knew where the front wheels were pointing. Also, the seats while comfortable on long ranges, are rather flat, so you have to hang on to something while leaning on the tyre sidewalls. It is fortunate the transmission tunnel sides are unusually highly padded. The car isn't torquey off the start line, but when you reach 250km/h or so, you will notice the car significantly constricts acceleration to keep that limit, so you may not need more power in that sense. I'd say there's more power than there is chassis control at 200km/h+ high speeds - your eyes will be nailed at the horizon because, tyre grip aside, you will need that at least extent of forward planning to settle the suspension for proper quick lane changes or decelerations. I find the quiet v8 warble familiar in amplified and sharpened form in the LC500. Also, Lexus remains the only dealership to still ask for my breakfast order before I drive the car to its servicing.

Fan: Can I buy a Doug t-shirt? Doug: No. Fan: How about a baseball cap? Doug: No. Fan: Well what merchandise do you have? Doug: I have a photo printer at home. Fan: I don't want to buy a printer. Doug: No, I'll print you a picture of myself with a car that you could never afford. You'll never forget how much more successful I am than you. Fan: Just get some F t-shirts and hats. Doug: You didn't ask about the quarks and features of the photo. Fan: Oh there is some kind of drawing associated with the purchase of the photo. I'll be automatically entered to win a Mazda Miata That's coolDoug: No. No. No. I'll sign the picture with my own hand. Fan: Go F Yourself Doug

Looks like a great car, and it probably is more reliable than the Mercedes or BMW's of it's time. However, since this is a hybrid there are more things that can go wrong with it than the LS460. The hybrid battery alone will cost upwards of 5000 and the inverter around 8000 at a Lexus dealership. And then also, they were known for bad control arms and faulty Mark Levinson Amps which required replacement. Suddenly it's not such an inexpensive option, but it looks nice

12: 40, pretty much all toyotas with headlight washers got an seperate button for it, funny enough tho. Sometimes it refuses to work. And u dont even need to use it, just use ur windshield wipers and it does it if it feels like it wants to lol. And 14: 00, the parking system works just fine lmao, the 2009-2011 prius has that exact same intelligent parking system and i use it regulary. By whatever reason tho, IPS was removed on the 2012 face lift prius.

Um. Doug. you skipped the fact that the rear armrest also has a refrigerator compartment under the remote tray. major thing to leave out. Also the rear air purifier, main air smog filtering mode, adjustable air suspension and height adjusting, the turning headlights, the soft closing doors, the collision avoidance system automatic braking, radar cruise control and brake auto holding. I'm sure there's more.

Doug, you forgot to mention one of the worthiest mentionning quirks of this car: this was the first production car which could be equipped with LED headlights. Although in this configuration, the high beams use HID bulbs, that are only used for the high beams. As opposed to all other cars on which HID bulbs are used either by low beams only or low and high beams. This may also be the only car to have that.

My 1993 LS400 has a few of the same buttons and features: the seat belt height adjuster, the same locks and handles, automatic headlights (which also automatically adjusts the dash brightness depending on how dark it is outside, and the automatic AC button. Everything else is leagues above what the first gen of the LS400 came with. Soon I'll upgrade because the LS class does not disappoint.

14: 30 I don't think the button lights up when it's open rather when it's closed. However it looks at though the ambient light in the cabin is hitting the light shaft on the left that leads to the button indicator so it appears as though the button in illuminated when the compartment is open.
