I'm willing to bet the front seat controls that are within reach of the second row, are disabled when someone is sitting in the front seat. Probably tied in with the airbag sensor. So when there's weight detected in the front passenger seat, the airbag is enabled, in turn disabling those seat controls.
This may not be the case at all. But it'd be a major oversight and inconveniently not user-friendly if the seat could be moved at will, at any given time, by a second row passenger who will almost always be a kid.

Doug, anyone who has ever owned a minivan has walked through the middle of the second row seats to get to the third row. I don t understand the criticism you like to make about minivans with second row seats that don t fold well enough to reach the third row. It s irrelevant. Folding the seat is a pain in the butt for families with many children and that s why they avoid SUV s in the first place. Minivan owners DO NOT CARE about how well the second row folds

Wondering what the white whale for a car would be. what would make Doug give a car a final Doug score of 95 or better. I m guessing it would be something like this of a build. performance of a Mclaren, handling of a go-kart, interior space of a school bus, quality of build of a Rolls Royce, timeless visual design that appeals to the eye for generations, all of that for a sticker price of 5000 USD to max out that value score.

Doug, where have you been? My 2015 Sienna has dual power operations and opening sunroofs, and my rear sunroof is substantially bigger than the one in this Kia. Also Sienna had footrests on their middle rows from 2015 on up on the Limited/Limited Premium trim. For that matter, the third row and rear cargo area in this Kia look almost identical to the previous generation of Sienna too.

It really doesn't matter what K. I. A (killed in action) makes or calls their cars it's ONLY lipstick on a pig. And I'm good. I will continue to support the one company that didn't take Hussein Obama's auto bail out. And the one company that didn't cave to the woke california mob by not producing police vehicles. FORD! Buy an american car!

I think Doug got this one wrong. I just bought one of these last week and my other car is a CTS-V. So at least some minivan buyers care about power. Plus, we just averaged over 26mpg on our first road trip. Not to mention the Sienna costs more than the Carnival, so you may not come out ahead on the improved fuel economy

in the korean market, the carnival is used more for chauffeuring famous people and as taxis, not as a family vehicle. this explains the buttons on the side of the passenger seat for the rear passengers to access because it is likely that the passenger is a celebrity and is utilizing the van as a luxury vehicle per say.

1 point for Cool Factor seems a bit unreasonable, considering that its probably the coolest looking and least boring minivan available. Actually it kinda looks more like an SUV than a minivan with that high front and grille. Hope all the other brands catch up to the trend of making minivans look less boring.

Hey Doug, the infotainment has multiple panels. You need to tap that triangle that shows up on the right side of the screen. Then you can have media and nav at the same time
Also do a KIA Proceed review if you can find one in the states! :)

Not sure if it's been put up yet, but the diamond details we're seeing on the otherwise flat spaces - pillars and the fronts on EVs - that is to reduce reflection, or to keep it from hitting directly toward the most prominent direction.
