Doug, I think that LED light strip on the door only flashes red like that to alert the driver/passengers that their door is ajar.
I don't think that blinking is bright enough for people outside to see it on a sunny day.

We had the joy of test driving the XB7 and almost bought it. It feels closer to a M760, which we have and a X7 50i. It sound beautiful and drives smoothly. Talk about an amazing sleeper for those that don t know what is Alpina

The steering wheel stitching is green and blue because those are the Alpina colours, on older models that theme was continued throughout the entire interior and it looks less out of place in those.

I think this is a much better deal than Gls 63, for someone who wants this type of stuff. Not only it has some unique features but the Alpina badge holds value better than an AMG

Actually Alpina is less about the power like BMW-M. It's more about luxury and excusivity. The super high performance numbers are more like a nice side effect.
