We car enthusiast know the reason why we didn't get the GR Yaris in the United States, it's because America don't care nor listen of what we want, they give us what some of we didn't ask for. Mainly throwaway SUVs and crossovers. I love small pocket-rocket hatchbacks and the GR Yaris fits the bill. Good work Toyota.

I have been so disappointed that the US market is not going to get the gr yaris. A small, AWD, turbocharged, 2 door hatch is my favorite layout for a car. Watching this video and seeing how great it is only makes me even more bummed out.
Back to working on an AWD swap crx I guess.

I mean. yeah! This goes 0-60 in 5. 2 seconds, my Twin-Turbo V6 Lincoln does it in 5. 4 seconds, I bet driving this car DOES feel like you're driving a 6 cylinder, that's pretty damn impressive for literally half the power plant! Granted, much smaller/lighter car too.

Actually, the only few things GR shares with a Yaris is the name, mirrors, lights and roof fin. Shame you didn't take it up and down some twisty mountain, that car is all about confidence when pushing, regardless of the conditions on the road. Glad you enjoyed it: )

Well. the Pontiac Grand Prix had an option for a HUD, and they weren't doing back-up cameras back then. I'd imagine other cars that offered the HUD at the time were like this too. But yeah, modern cars, no, probably a little hard to find.

Doug I hate when you say crappy Crappy for normal Yaris which was sold in US back only because it was small city hatch and had only 106 hp
Even though that mean for many people
Every one cannot afford hemi or a AMG or something

This is my dream car. I've owned two 2008 Yaris 3-door hatches (the first is pictured to the left. I guess I'll have to settle for the GR Corolla Hatch when that comes around. until I can import one of these in 25 years

For the American/NorthAM market, I'm scared that Toyota pulls a Nissan Juke Nismo move and give us a CH-R GR-FOUR with CVT. And just the thought is as terrifying as the CH-R is ugly

This is an amazing vehicle.
The story of production reminds me of the Nissan Pulsar GTI-R, with both being homologation produced.
Sadly I'm in the states, and of course can't get one.

I love how much he is dissing the Yaris. Is it ugly? Kinda, is it cheap? Yeah, is it a rock solid reliable car that'll last forever? Yes. At that point, it becomes a great car imo
