This car has very clearly been modified. It's obvious when he open to the storage compartment above the radio, that was meant and supposed to house the two-factor authentication system that was built into these cars in the mid-to-late 90s. Since that has been removed, we can assume that this car has been modified, or is not an actual 22b. It was not that hard and it still isn't that hard to take a 97 or 98 WRX STI and put all of the 22b upgrade on to it, including the 2. 2 EJ swap. Only the STI and the 22b were given the two-factor authentication keyboards, and with that not present, either it has been removed, or, more than likely this is a base model that was upgraded by somebody.

None of subarus 2. 2l ever had significant head gasket issues like the 2. 5's. So much so, it's not even worth mentioning. That's also what made them highly sought after was they were more reliable than the Ej20k's of that same era yet more powerful. 22b's were what we envisioned all STI's to be (or wanted, yet they never were. My grandma has a '96 Brighton 2 door that (when I inherit) I'm planning on turning into at least an STI time attack car. I've played around with the idea of a 22B clone, but we'll see how I feel when the time comes (and how much I have.

It's amazing to me how similar the interior of that insane rally car is to my late '90s crossover Subaru Forester.
In fact, my Forester has a few MORE features - the top center console storage bin is replaced with an early information system, compass, altimeter, temperature, etc. (The early Foresters were based on the Impreza, so the interiors felt nearly the same)

He keeps mentioning the track, this is a Rally car, desinged from the ground up for rough real roads and tracks, they dont work on track, theyre flippy and sqitty and hate constant force and slow imputs, long cornor, no warning, catastrophic oversteer, it wants you to countersteer and floor it, thats not how most track drivers will react. Ive seen it, its funny

So you really think an NSX is more fun? I looked back and I don't see you nearly as excited about the acceleration or any more excites about the handling. Further, you even admit at the end that the 22B is more fun than a new Imprezza. We need a chant.
Change that score!

23: 57 I've detected an anomaly. I don't think the Integra and the 22B should be tied for practicality. You can move a drumset or a dorm room in an Integra thanks to its hatchback and surprisingly large cargo area once the seats are down.

DCCD dial does not move power front to rear. It only controls lockup of the center diff. The torque split is fixed via planetary center diff. Even when dialed open, you still have a clutchpack in the center diff that will provide some resistance to slip.

Rally cars seldom goes faster than 200 km/h in rally-races, so that this car has the same top speed is just logical. - The pink Subaru-logo in the nose must be another special quirk of the 22b, right? Don't remeber seeing than on regular WRX: s or STi: s.
