Retro cars! Here are 8 retro cars that Doug DeMuro thinks should make a comeback. Today I'm going through several retro cars that I think should return -- and I'm going to explain why these eight retro cars should come back. Moises: Doug is so dumb about Toyota with the land cruiser, come on kid, the fact that you love the car doesn t change the reality of the market, you American rich kids love luxury so there you have the Lexus, the Land cruiser it s a best seller in so many countries, so why should Toyota stick to the far cry of a few ppl like you in a country of 350+ million ppl, it was a market strategy, I think USA had the lowest sales % of the LC.

toyota made some weird decisions here in europe as well, when it comes to models.
they pulled the avensis wagon and gave us the corolla and camry instead, which was a big mistake.
the corolla does sell and is a decent car overall, however it is lacking in the family department due do its smaller size.
the camry on the other hand doesnt sell at all.
we are a mid sized toyota dealership and sold like a handful of them.
the camry had older safety sense tech than the corolla, was much more expensive and due to being a sedan, it was a bad family car, given that it is placed in the middle class family car segment.
all toyota has to do is convert the camry in to a wagon thought.

Definitely agree on all of these, personally tho the retro car I'd love to see return the most is the Ford Capri(not as an SUV like the Puma did, god forbid) imo a light sports car with a 2 litre(or smaller) engine from ford has the potential to do well and maybe even rival similar offerings from Porsche and Audi, complete with styling cues to the original Capri like they did with the new Bronco.
Ford could also dabble in the luxury car market by releasing a new Granada as a direct competitor for Audi, Mercedes, BMW and Volkswagen, with faster more powerful versions thrown in for good measure!
I mean, both are unrealistic but a man can dream

Not only won't Honda do it, at this point I don't think they even can. I don't think they remember how. The new Integra is a midsize 5 door sedan blob thing with angry lights and the grille off a fullsize luxury sedan. The Civic is a hideous sedan hatchback thing they had to turbocharge because its gotten so big. They had to make the Fit because the Civic wasn't the Civic anymore. Honda North America has no clue how to make the stuff that made Honda cool in the past.

Would be cool if a company like RUF och Gunther Werks, who makes their own carbon fiber chassi for old 993 looking Porsches, but for Honda or Nissan. Think if a similar company would do the same for Honda NSXs. Do the same thing with the Nissan R32-33-34.
New Honda S2000. Make a similar S2000 design but little more edgy. Take the Civic Type R engine and transmission and done.

I remember talking at a trade show with a group of Honda engineers who worked on the original NSX. I shared that I considered buying one but in the end chose a competitor. In broken English (vastly superior to my Japanese however) one guy asked what I bought instead, and I said a 911 Turbo. You made the right choice, he said. I found that honest admission remarkable.

The new blazer is not ugly, it may not be what some people wanted a new blazer to be but the new one looks great.
Ferrari just released a new model that has design cues on the rear end and front end that remind me of the side strakes of the testsrossa.
A lot of these cars would be such a small market that they wouldn t be profitable for the automakers.

I would so much like if Chevy brought the K5 Blazer back, I remember back in 2007 when the Tahoe got redesigned I was 15yo and I was so obsessed with that truck I even imagined getting one and cutting it into a two doors version, stuff a lift kit, big tires and make it look like a modern K5, but wtv being realistic I don t think Chevy would do such thing.

The VW Bus IS coming back, and will be released in a new all-electric form in 2023. In fact, they've already shown off a pre-production model of it that's heavily inspired by the ID. Buzz (go watch the ID. 5 global release event to see it.
I'm honestly so surprised that Doug overlooked this, because I've seen this news everywhere.

I dont know if you get it in the US. But in Colombia we have the Land Cruiser 79 which I think is the continuation of the fj40 line. It's the hardest truck of toyota with 4. 0l V6. It's almost completely used for work or offroad tourism, they sell really basic versions without a bed. I think that's the real work car legacy of the fj40
