I have always loved the SI's - I have owned three of them (2000 EM1, 2007 FG2 and 2017 FC1) They have never been known for Power but I do have to agree that this 200HP nonsense is ridic, The si's have had 200hp since 2006 when the fg2 came out and then they put a Turbo in the engine bay and it STILL had 200Hp. The Si used to be a competition for the GTI which now has WAY more power. I have been expecting the SI to be at least 230-240hp by now. Why I no longer drive one. but, I love that they are the cheapest all around Daily Driving sporty fun car.

So two counterpoints for Dougs comments about performance, the first being that while it has been rated for 5hp less, when Hondata had dynoed the car it actually was making 220hp vs the 10th gens 201hp.
Secondly, the 0-60 for the 10th gen was pretty deceptive towards its actual speed because of the gearing you actually have to shift a 3rd time to hit 60 throwing off the 0-60 number for that car and I'm assuming its the same for this one.
It's still not the fastest car in its class but its a lot more competitive than the numbers sound.

If I had 30k, I would buy this car. I'm not going to street race, brag to my friends about HP, or go to the track. What I AM going to do, is drive it into the ground. This car will last WAY longer than any of its competitors, and cost FAR less to operate. If I wanted anything else, I would probably have to settle for a CVT, which I really don't like. I think Honda will sell many of these Civics. Considering my last Civic had 140 HP, 200 HP sounds pretty good.

It s hard to wrap my mind around who would buy this car new, with no features. Last year I bought a 2009 g37x for 13k and 50k miles. It has 320hp, leather heated power seats, navigation, among a whole bunch of other features. All this is to say that compared to the competition and even the used market this car lacks so much for the money. Just don t see who the ideal costumer is.

Why not spend 32K for a Kia N instead?
Because this is more for people who'll actually spend 29K and keep it for years because you can with a Honda engine, as opposed to people who'll lease a car that will be falling apart around the end of the lease anyway - and is even more worthless once the warranty has expired.

I kinda hate this liftback style they've settled with. front looks like it got stung by a bee and the rear is any VW group car lol
Anyways not like I'll be able to afford this in the next 20 years, i can see it being popular though

Great daily driver. Civic practicality and reliability and looks pretty fun to drive. Obviously the Type R is a beast but driving around town with a loud exhaust and huge spoiler wing as a middle aged dude I d feel like a huge tool

Sad to see the Si going downhill in terms of performance and quality. I think it s days are numbered if this design language continues which hurts to say because the world would be a worse place without the Si

If you re looking into getting this car I would highly recommend the 2022 Kia Forte GT. It starts at 25, 000 and you can get a loaded one with most of the features missing from the SI for around the same price.

A 200hp Civic sedan, with (FINALLY) decent looks after decades of uglieness, understated sporty accents and offered only with a manual.
