Mercedes-AMG E63 Wagon review! The 2021 Mercedes-AMG E63 Wagon is a truly amazing family car -- maybe the best. Today I'm reviewing the E63 Wagon, and I'll show you all the quirks and features of the AMG Wagon. I'm also going to drive the AMG E63 Wagon and show you what it's like behind the wheel of the fastest family car you can buy.

Reasons why no family will buy this for a family car.
First off they are proably like most of the US and find wagons ugly as sin for some reason.
The rear has that massive tunnel that really cuts off potential space and even leg room for just 2 people back there.
Maybe mom has back problems and it is simply too low for her to get into. So now they are looking at crossovers.
If you live in a area with a bunch of hills and roads suddenly going up and down. Well say bye to that front bumper. So easy to damage.
Also some might look at this. Look at the MB crossover and think the crossover is much safer for their baby angels. The data won't matter. The crossover feels safer and they will buy that.
And this is it won't be as big as MB crossovers. And why people won't buy wagons. :(
Edit also as this shows. Lots of car bodied automobiles really cheap out with the rear. Not so much this specific car. But try finding a mainstream sedan with sunshades, outlets and AC controls or even vents. Automakers want families to go to crossovers.

Back in the day I used to configure all the settings on offer either in the showroom with the salesman with me before I drove my new car home, or I did so on my own with the owners manual once I got home. It was mostly a one-time process, and then I simply drove my car for years, having only to push a button once in a while for more colder or warmer air, and to change a radio station. The rest of the time I simply drove the car. Listening to, and watching Doug's demonstration of endless configurable swipes, and touches of deep infotainment processes, I can't imagine there is any time to focus on driving the car safely. I guess I am officially old. Honey can you take the wheel for a second? I need to find the screen to turn on my armrest heater.

I am getting less and less interested in modern day cars because more and more they are becoming like iPads with 4 wheels. Think when things go electric I prefer the idea of converting a classic car frankly. Until then, I only get the most analogue cars I can, with minimum manual transmission, handbrake and all the essential controls on easy reach buttons/ switches

It s nuts how few true wagon choices there are in the US. When I was shopping it was only the E400 wagon (with no options available, the E63 wagon or the Volvo V90. Everything else is just a compact or mid-sized hatchback. I went with the V90, and now not even that is available.

So he reviewed the same E63 AMG twice with the only difference being a facelift but hasn't driven an M5 CS, which drives, looks and goes completely different from the base model M5 he reviewed in 2018?

People always tout wagons, but nobody buys them. Instead, an SUV is bought in lieu of these wagons. Car enthusiasts always tout these wagons, and these shooting brake vehicles. But nobody buys them.

German here. If you ever wondered which cars are the real kings of the Autobahn: These fast wagons are! SUVs are way too slow accelerating at higher speeds, and crazy Sportscars are too rare.

I wonder why Doug hasn't reviewed the a45 amg yet, it's one of the most fantastic hot hatch in history. I guess Mercedes doesn't sell it in states like the gr yaris.

Took me every bit of 3 seconds to figure out why Doug was doing another E63 AMG wagon review. Light bulb came on and I said Bet it's for sale on Cars and Bids.

I really miss the old way you used to give out your Doug Score, talking us through each category and your reasoning behind it.
