i love how America just one day all-of-a-sudden boost up the price on their sport vehicles as if their car factories have been reformed and quality have been improved, therefore price have increased; LOL NOTHING BUT A FN GIMMICK Its still a cheap vehicle built with poor quality material. you cant just add a supercharger and a few mods and raise the price 3-4 times over retail. American marketing logic is so cunning and such a rip-off. when i sit inside an American car, everything feel and look so cheap, just exactly what Jeremy Clarkson on top-gear always say. Im not going to pay 100k for something built like it could be made in china

The C6 ZR1 has been, and will remain to be, my favorite Corvette ever. Ever since I saw the video of it riding that LP670-4 SV's bumper, which was supposed to be Lamborghini's best attempt at a race car for the road at the time, I was hooked. For under 100, 000, you can own a car that keeps pace with a 500, 000 stripped out, V12 track-focused flagship Lamborghini. Amazing. (Don't get me wrong, the ZR1 sounds good, but that final iteration of the Bizzarrini V12 is my favorite sounding car of all time and I understand that given the chance I would own the LP670-4 SV over the ZR1 10 times out of 10)

638 hp? PFFFT. The Vector W8 had 700 and that was over a quarter century before this came out. And it even had an optional 1, 000 hp engine optionPS: Doug, from the beginning, the ZR-1 was intended to be just at home on crowded city streets as an exotic place like the Nordschleife. The design team was told it had to be easily controllable in rush hour traffic but still ready to embarrass Porsches and Mustangs at the race track. I wouldn't really expect it to handle or feel different from other Corvettes on city streets, honestly.

His first comments said it all. hes not a corvette guy. never have been. if he was a corvette guy, hed know why this beast is considered King of the Hill. Brutal acceleration, awesome power This car is NOT meant to be driven at 40mph You dont put over 600 hp in a car to drive it like a wussy But his attitude certainly changed when he was able to open it up on the highway I would have recommended even taking it to a drag strip but I realize its not your car. and if you think this is power, drive a c7 zo6 fella

Heres the way I look at it: the Corvette is like Dimebag Darrell. Dimebag was a good guitarist, really good, but people hold him up on this pedestal like hes one of the all time greats, but IMO he simply isnt on the same level as the other proper guitar gods. He lacks the nuance, class, innovation, and diversity of someone like Guthrie Govan or John Petrucci. Like Doug says, the same on paper doesnt necessarily translate to the same experience in real life.

You don't know half of what you think you know lol that ZR1 and better yet the newest ZR1 absolutely embarrasses cars that cost double and triple its price Just because you're a snob with money and can afford to buy fancy European cars that doesn't mean they are the best American muscle can kick European cars asses at a fraction of the price

You miss the point, the ZR1 is a ultimate exotic that you can drive every day. Say what you want about a Ferrari or McLaren, but you'd never take one the you local grocery store. The ZR1 has all the regular drive ability of a normal Corvette, but when you wanted to you could hang with the exotics. In that sense it is pretty much unique.

Horrible commentator. But I agree and have for the longest. GM is really screwing the Middle Class Sports Car with selling nothing more than a little extra HP for six figures. I've owned two Corvettes, to include a C6Z06, and there is no way I'd pay six figures for something I can add myself in my own garage.

Obviously a Bias opinion on the ZR 1 at first but good old Doug finally came to his senses. This C6 with 638 H/P is a mover and gives lots of bang for the buck compared to a costly exotic for twice that price. Puts a smile on your face every time you press that pedal to the floor and hear that supercharger howl.
