Doug, you have to remember that the lm002 was designed to try and replace the jeep for the us military, it was competing against the Humvee and land rover, so most of the quirks were made specifically for military purposes. The battery switch was to save the battery is times of war, and was an effort to keep the enemy from hotwiring your truck and driving away, the ignition placement was to keep them from taking the keys, there was a tool that came with it for the fuel door, the pedals were made heavy to account for the heavy military grade boots the driver would be wearing, the radio wasn't supposed to be a radio, but instead a cb radio for communications, and it just so happens that that is where they are mounted, everything in the lm002 was designed for military purpose

This thing was designed for the Middle East desert, it had sealed buttons, sealed signal light and wiper control stocks to keep sand out as well as better air filters for the engine. Apparently it ran fairly well on low quality fuel as well and the large fuel tank meant you could cross a lot of desert. Some were even equipped with a machine gun turret. I read about these when they first came out many years ago and definitely wanted one.

Lamborghini is originated as a Traktor builder Farmers vehicles You must keep that in mind Making sportscar was only a hobby side project Can you imagine how many switches and knobs and buttons are suited into a Lambo traktor? Whats the englisch word for traktor? ah very easy: tractor For good cars you should go for German cars have fun

Before saying this car is by far the most ridiculous Lamborghini ever made, one should consider its nature: this has been conceived as a military vehicle. Most of the apparently odd features it exhibits do perfectly make sense as long as the ultimate goal was effectiveness, as opposed to efficiency. Anyway, thanks for this video.

To understand the presence and design of things like the large 4x4 levers and the battery cutout switch, you have to acknowledge Lamborghini's farm equipment heritage. When they made the LM002, they probably still had some tractor engineers around. However, I do agree with Chase McWilliams that this car was inspired by cocaine.

Something we agree on There's a gay couple in Japan that owns one and on Japanese roads, the LM002 towers over the other vehicles like Godzilla trampling Tokyo. This is absolutely the coolest 4-wheeler ever, and I refer you to Car and Driver's original road test.

Sorry Doug, there's nothing amazing about this monstrosity. It looks like it was designed by a Russian mafia kingpin while sitting on the toilet. It makes the Hummer2 look like a Mercedes S class in comparison. 400, 000 dollars worth of pure ugly.

That car was made for the oil barons in the Saudi Arabia region. its kind of ideal for keeping up with your falcon when hunting with it. same reason for the existence of the 6 wheeled MB AMG G wagon
