Buy this car for 75K, budget another 40K for service and maintenance, and for less than 120K you have a 400K car that nobody else has, and very few can even identify. If you maintain it yourself, (yeah, I know few will, but you could, and that would likely knock another 20K off the cost. It's probably mechanically as good as a Bentley or Rolls, and accelerates and out handles a Rolls of that time period. I think it looks good, not outstanding, but better than the same year Rolls do. So to me, it's a bit of a luxury sleeper, with good value for the price.

Its a real beauty if you ask me. Big 'but' though. its price was in Rolls Royce territory. and no one will mistake your Phantom, or whatever it was back then. for an S class. BMW got it right with the M750. priced more or less in a class of its own, with superb performance and equipment, but at the 180, 000 USD range (before options though I think. so not even trying to compete with Rolls Royce. (Though might snag a Conti GT buyer perhaps)

The ordinary person in the street would have to not have both oars in the water to buy one. The car may have lost 300, 000 in value but the spare parts haven't lost any value. They're still at full manufacturers retail price. This is what many people don't understand when they buy a secondhand top of the line luxury car. It can bankrupt them when things go wrong.

The champagne holders don't make sense to me. In a limousine, this would make perfect sense. I bartended in fine dining in my (much, much) younger years. Except for special occasions, the ultra-rich, in my experience, don't drink champagne; they're far more likely to go for an expensive scotch or a fine wine.

The problem isn't merely that it LOOKS like an S-Class, but that it's just a normal car on steroids. No matter how big, powerful and featureful. a car. The RR is more like a stately mansion on wheels, utterly different. Bentley may be somewhere in-between.

This is luxury car made for rich people. Rich people will never want to buy used Maybach. This is why it depreciate so much. On other side rich people don't care how much it will depreciate. That is concern for rich people wannabes.

First and last time I saw a Maybach was in 2004 when Celene Dion was being driven. The car pulled up to the guard gate where I was working and, recognizing her I opened the gate. She then went to her guard gated (yes) compound.

I always liked Maybach my neighbor bought his 62s in 2011 and still has it. Dougie makes a point you have to know it is Maybach when you see it, it is meant for people that can appreciate something special.

Before you even watch the video, it has lost that amount because: A- it was overpriced in the first place. andB- It is a car and that is what they do financially, they nosedive in value.
