SIGN UP FOR TURO The BMW i3 is a cool little electric hatchback -- but it's not worth 50, 000. Today I'm reviewing the i3 to show you why it isn't worth what BMW is charging -- and I'm going to show you all the quirks and features of this i3 with the range extender

In the Dallas area, there's a dude, it appears, selling one On craigslist & it's just under 30, 000 miles and it's just under 16 K. Kind of a cool color two. If I were in the mood for an egg with motors I definitely would consider it. On another note, when I see one of these cars I always think fondly of it as being the sort of out of place (because it's supposed to take place more than 20 years in the future and so this car probably will then look old-fashioned) in one of my favorite films ever (that did badly in the theaters) The Space Between Us. Great to hear that Doug didn't totally trash the car: -)

I am from Europe and I reside in Europe. And here in Europe: 1. This ugly Bavarian duckling has been voted the Ugliest Car in Europe. 2. Obviously it is the most overpriced ugly-duckling contraption as well. Not just in Europe, probably on a worldwide scale. 3. Folks who know motor vehicles here in Europe will tell you -- buy a Japanese, Korean, or even American made car -- before contemplating getting any European built vehicle. Just sayin'.

Not enough room you say? It has more room then my M3 besides the trunk/boot and much easier to put the kids in their seats in the back I don't give a shit what they say about it, i have driven it and i liked it and its futuristic technology. Glad to know taste differs. I drive a F80 M3, and the I3s 2020 will be my next. Why? Because i don't need big mileage and never will there be American crap (Tesla)in my garage. Back at ya.

Totally ridiculous. More than 50GYou can hardly make the neighbouring town. You cannot use this in mid winter in Canada. So you need another car for winter? This is a toy for the super rich greens who get a government rebate which is money taken from those who does not want this crap or cannot afford it. To cap it all off it depreciates faster than a Lambo could accelerate. Insane

I regularily drive an i3 on a car sharing service and beside its limited cargo space id say its the perfect city car. I was really astonished doug only gave it a 2 for acceleration. flooring it from a standing position really pushes you hard in the seat. in a city where you only drive 50 km/h max there is rarely a car seen that can keep up after a red light stop.

I went to a Boston car show a while back and saw the BMW electric car concept. But it looked nothing like that. I walked up to it and had no clue it was electric. It was stylish, and futuristic with a lot of creature comforts. Still had that oval pod look that most electric cars have. I was sold. This car looks like a hack job.

The i3 has depreciated a lot, however this car is built to last more than 50years. Just replace the battery every 10years and rubber bushings and you are good to go. Except people may not want to invest 10k in a low price vehicle. Thats why manufacturers dont bother if with rust probelms with cars that cost less than 150k

To be honest i think BMW build this car to show how ugly electric vehicles are. They have been afraid of theire business. I think this was not nessesary. Electric vehicles will not conquer the massmarket. They are to expensive. And to heavy. And the batterie will not last forever.

Only the interior design and build quality save face, the odd proportions and exterior design accentuating that its probably a first attempt at the EV market kind of kills it and those thin wheels put the final nail in the coffin. and the price when new probably buried it forever

People are buying it for the BMW logo. German made cars are still high quality, the problem is that Korean and American cars have also become high quality. Especially Korean cars enough to be highly reliable. So all you have left with German cars is really the branding.
