CLARION BUILDS The 1994 Acura Legend Coupe was a seriously cool Acura -- if you can believe it. Today I'm reviewing this Legend Coupe and I'm showing you why the Acura Legend used to be a cool, exciting car

This is a GS coupe, with a manual, this was a rare car in the day. There was a GS 4 door that was even rarer. These cars were amazing in the day. The no drill in the arm rest was for the car phones that were being installed at the time. When I worked at an Acura dealer as a Lot Attendant from '93 to '95 the GMs both had the dealership add Acura car phones, very, very cool. No one had cell phones, we all used beepers. By the way, Acura's original Legend coupe came out in '86 or '87. The funny part was seeing the sticker shock on first generation Legend buyers faces when they came to upgrade to a '91 or newer Legend. The old Accord looking Legends were in the teens, I don't remember exactly, but definitely sub 20k. When I started in '93 the base cloth legend was over 30k. Side note, the NSX in '93 was sticker priced at right around 80k, hard top, no targa top yet. But, I was told, cost Honda 114k to build. People would come to our showroom just to see this super car.

Everyone has there own opinion but man you're wrong lol. They're amazing cars when you look into the history and have one as your daily driver. Lowered on coilovers with CAI and headers. Put a nicer sound system and it was my most comfortable, reliable, longest lasting car ive owned. Got it at about 265k miles drove the living dogg shit out of it till 320k with just normal services. Fluids, brakes, washing it every week for my own personal service lol. Mine was a 4 door gs but my favorite car still. Car gave up due to its most common problem, HEADGASKET FAILURE. Kept driving it for a few weeks just 10 mins to work each day and filling coolant evrytime i left. One day on the way home my diff blew beacuse my axle seal blew out and leaked all my fluid everywhere. Funny thing i had a new axle seal in the door.

Just a little mild thing, in your phrasing you make it sound as though all legend coupes came with these ALL of these features, which they did not, you also forgot that the wiper blades have two different positions you have to manually place them in (They snap into a different position when you pull upward on them. Also, Type two's are still different today in the fact that they used cast parts for certain parts of the power train to make it more reliable. Also that the type two intake is, to this day, Larger than most aftermarket Honda intake manifolds, or Acura. Please feel free to correct me with sources

6: 15 Doug missed a beat when he was talking about the maintenance light whenever the car needs maintenance. First of all, the indicator is not a light. Its just a piece of plastic with three colors, green, yellow and red on a mechanical wheel. Its there to give the driver a rough idea that its time to change the oil. (Essentially, The 3 colors change from GREE to YELLOW to RED every 3K miles) Once the oil has been changed, either your mechanic or the driver inserts the key into a little horizontal slot just below the indicator to reset it, just like pushing the pin on the trip odometer.

I have an example of the original 1987 first ever Legend coupe (Gen 1. It is 100% original, though, I have had to cover the leather seats do to deterioration. Mine is a 5 speed, with only 169, 000 original miles. It is by far the coolest car I have ever owned, and not a week goes by that I do not get a positive nostalgic comment from some fan of how awesome this car was/is. 32 years, and counting, and I truly dread the day when I can no longer drive my baby. Hopefully, not for many more years to come. Doug needs to research more history of cars, besides just the quirks, of vehicles.

I don't think the Acura got nearly enough props. 47 out of 100 come on man? Hardly anything could compare to these cars way back in 94'. I had a 1995 740 briefly(real briefly, that still had a cassette player in it for Christ sakes. The 1998 Lexus LS400 in my opinion is pound for pound the best vehicle ever made We can't compare things today to 25 years ago on an equal basis. I see college students making this error frequently. Mainly because no one has taught them how to differentiate between these differences and use critical thinking.

I remember wanting one of these. watched the sale manager guy who snubbed me at the end of the day blast out of the dealership to go have drinks, I tried to keep up with my 1991 Ford Escort GT. wasn't easy. Gosh, the rich are so fast in their cool cars. Well, today I am not rich, but I just bought a Kia Stinger GT2 AWD. and Mr car manager. I am looking for you. cause I will whip ur arse. :) (The soft-close doors were indeed the coolest feater it had. I have always remembered that, stunning so many cars dont have that)

Doug I love watching your videos very informative. But you gave some false facts on the legend coupe. The 2nd generation legend coupe was made from 1991- 1992, trims L, LS, GS. AVAILABLE IN ALL YEARS AS A 3. 2 V6. AUTO OR 6 SPEED. The L and LS had 230 HP and The GS had 260 HP. It had soft close doors on the coupe and steering wheel radio controls where you actually see the radio knob turn on it's own. The L had a drivers power seat. The LS and GS had driver and power seats.

I have a 1998 Acura CL 3. 0 coupe. It is a far better looking car than this Legend. Having said that, I have to wonder why some of the features of this Legend didn't continue into the CL. A 5-speed manual was available in the CL if you got the 4-cylinder. My seat heater is On or Off; no 5 position. The seat belt does not power itself out of the way for loading the back seat. I have to manually position it. But I LOVE my CL. It is so very enjoyable to drive.

The old TL/TL Type S was the spiritual successor to the Legend, and a damn good car in its own right. I realize the RL was the flagship, but it was exceptionally boring and basic, zero soul. The TL and CL Type S models were midsized and sporty, much more likened to the Legend. Even the TSX was a good sporty front drive entry lux sedan. Then they kinda all got pushed into one model, the lame RLX. Such a shame, Honda is capable of so much more.
