How To Remove Window Tint

The boys show you a few different methods to remove old window tint. Blade: The degreaser helps, but isn't necessary. I noticed living here in Arizona, USA, that leaving the tint glue on for a day in the heat of our summers helps to baked and burn the glue's adhesive properties. All you need after it's dried into a sort of solid form, that isn't tacky or sticky is glass cleaner and a razor blade. I scrape it off while keeping the razor at an acute angle to the windshield, and just use the cleaner as an lubricant for the blade, and to help clean the glass of dirt or dust that has built up. The rear window defiantly makes sense with the degreaser, seeing as people may have the heating lines.

The BEST tip is to leave the last bit of tint stuck to the window so the glue and stuff can fall onto the bad tint when cleaning the window. I used this method yesterday to remove the tint from the back doors. It worked out well and was pretty easy. Took about an hour with my sister's help.
I used a conair handheld steamer and it left no glue residue. The tint and glue came off together. It was like 40 from walmart.

Pulled over today for front window tints, windshield tint, no front license plate, and tail light tints. Got off without a ticket. thank the lawd. Guess it pays to let the cops know you support them and are on your way to become one as well. I had a thin blue line license plate in place of my original plate. Cop noticed those. Gonna take my tints off tomorrow morning because you don't always get a 2nd chance.

Why would you want to remove window tint, the car (from the outside) looks more like a Fast&Furious car and from the inside the sun doesn't blind you on hot summer days, helps you concentrate on the road and gives the people watching from the outside from the car think you look more misterious (I'm not sure if I wrote it correctly)?

probably best to do it on a Hot day aswell if you are using a Hair Dryer lol in Qld we get hot days never tried doing my own tint as there is still peeling tint on my car might have to redo it great Video gonna reTint my car in a few weeks so will see how we go heat guns are probably better

I didn't realise until recently that my car actually has tinted windows, I would have never have known because they must be as old as the car (1991 WA Festiva) as the windows are almost completely clear.
Going to rip them out and get them done in 35% for next summer.

another tip on removing that tint:
if you got glue residue on the window heat it up and tap a piece of the old tint (3x3 in or 10x10 cm) on it and rip it of quickly. by repeating that the residue should stick to the tint rather than to the window.

quick tip mate, instead of using detergent use rubbing alcohol because glue is a organic compound and it dissolves in alcohol. It may stink a little bit but if you leave your car door open in a sunny day, the stink would be gone.

Awesome, as usual. I wish I had seen this 3 weeks ago when my FXT tint cause my wife to get a tint ticket. law is 30% max here and I tried removing in cold weather. result was I used alot of solvent.

Great video! It took me 2 days to take it off but only because I had peeled the first layer and not both: ( My advice, ask a friend to help you out, don't use a hair dryer, and get a heat gun!
