2) Track Day - Each of you run your own cars 2x, and have another independent driver (same guy, both cars) run each car 2x, Average all 4 runs together for best lap
3) Running pull - 30 to 160kph - Best of 5
4) Sydney to Newcastle and back - Points for best time, AND equal points for best fuel economy. Pulled over by the cops is a penalty (but you can stop your clock while you're pulled over, Also a good chance for some nice scenery shots)
5) Windy/Snakey road run - Bobbin Head Road / Ku-Ring-Gai Chase (Start at Caragul Rd. roundabout, end at Pacific Motorway) 1 run in each car by an independent driver, rates how much fun the drive was, on a scale of 1-10. (Another good chance for some nice scenery shots)

Effortless
You can't trash the cars, that's just wrong, and such a waste. You could auction the loser and donate the money if necessary, or give the loser to a fan. But seriously, you can't bin it. Here are my suggestions
1. Take the cars somewhere and see which one gets the most attention (moon buggy obvs)
2. Quarter mile (obviously, because fast is just good)
3. Lap time (obviously because they are both sports cars, so handling is important)
4. Race a track until failure (first to break down loses, because reliability is important)
And yeah, seriously, don't trash the cars. I would seriously be less of a fan if you crush a 10k car. It's not fun, it's not exciting, and it's not friendly. Friends don't crush each other's cars.

Mr2 drivers are helpful now. Rewind to mid to late 90s and they were preppy private school kids who were usually short with a popped collar and spiked hair. Usually with big sounds and wheels and were in the rich kids cool club. Needless to say the majority of the everyday car guy didn't hang out with them. Taken a while to shake the reputation but with the new generation coming through they never witnessed these things and can see the mr2 for what it is. A great car.

5) Braking contest (Best [Shortest] distance wins)
6) Best gas mileage over 'a long' trip (1 - 2 hours. we don't want to kill the drivers)
7) Total cost to performance (Old Top Gear style)
And may the best car win.

New Series: Both of you have 10k BUT the goal is to complete a couple drift challenges with the cheapest car. That INCLUDES the price of new parts! EG if one car is 2k and the other is 6k and they 6k car beats the 2k car in a drift track by like, I dunno, barely, then the 2k car actually wins the challenge. Someone in the comments word this better for me lol.

I thought the MR2 stuff felt a bit like grown up MCM with the lift, but still in a garage so the extra episodes were cool.
I do wonder what I'm missing with newer cars. But I figure until I can afford something like a Tesla (or cheap/good electric parts to retrofit old cars or build cool projects) living in the volatile dinosaur poop age is OK.

I was confused cause I was so sure you guys were always supported by Just Car Insurance, but it turns out Shannons insurance took them over or something.
Either way Shannons' site is annoying because every time you scroll it counts as a new. page? idk how to call it. so when you press the back button all it does is scroll back a tiny bit.
