Scotty, how much does the way we drive cars affect the reliability and longevity of the vehicle? I have a 2012 Ford Focus SE, that I bought with 40, 000 miles used from a ford dealership with a great reputation. I put 60, 000 miles on it in less than 2 years because I deliver food for doordash with it every day. The Focus of that generation has had a bad reputation for the auto duel clutch transmission, but as long as Ive owned this car I have had zero issues with it. Not so much as a headlight out. I havent even had to change the brake pads. My point is, i drive and operate the car with care, and keep it maintained. I respect it because I want it to last as long as possible. I love the car, its great on gas (30 mpg city, it handles great, and it has a nice sporty look to it. The interior is nice and cozy and i just love the style of fords sedans. It now has about 100, 000 miles on it and still runs like a dream. No signs of any problems, How long can I expect to have this car driving it like I do, and maintaining it without it starting to fall apart? Have you seen any 2012 Ford Focus lasting 200, 000 miles+ without any major issues? Thanks Scotty

A properly maintained rotary motor is very efficient and if certain alterations are made to the design it can be far superior to a standard internal combustion engine. I had one that ran for just over 460 thousand miles and never lost power or leaked or burned oil. I sold it back to Mazda and got a replacement cement for free because they wanted to put that motor in their museum at their head quarters. Granted i took very good care of that car and never missed an oil change or filter change. I also used an oil treatment that will remain unmentioned because I am not selling their products. I also had a Chevy luv truck that I put over 390 thousand miles on before changing the engine. Again propperly maintained they can really last. This can be said for most vehicles. It is always smart to properly maintain your car. You get more out of them that way.

Really hope Teslas would start dropping value here in Europe too. Have been looking for a about three years old Model X but they are still asking over 60% of the value compared to a new one. New ones also have a lot of improvements. You didn't mention the age of the Model S there but guessing 5 years or so. Teslas value comes mainly from elecrtonics so the price goes down with age, not with the milage so much. Even though, I don't there's much difference on price drop compered to a 5yo german premium cars.

I hate to be in that little shoebox of a car with a 5000 pound pick up truck decides to drive right through you and you turn into a bug on the bumper. But I can see those cards being extremely useful in Manhattan Brooklyn Queens in essence a city atmosphere where youre never gonna be able to go over 30 miles an hour but I wouldnt want to drive upstate New York or through Texas with them things no way in heaven.

I'm amazed how Scotty can keep up with so much tech to the point he knows how flash memory works and why it kills those Tesla's chips. Usually a pc guy would be aware of it because. we're paranoid about the lifespan of our SSDs and likely had SD cards and USB drives die on us after a decade of writing onto them. A lot of old guys should still be willing to learn like Scotty does.

Scotty, I have a 2006 Chevy Silverado 4. 3L V6. My truck starts up great every time except over the past year when I went out in the morning to start the truck after it had rained, it doesnt want to start. I know it has a fuel pump so I shouldnt have to push the accelerator to start it but if I pump it and try, still nothing until I wait 15 minutes and it will start. WHY?

Chevrolets have been rust buckets for decades and GM knew it for a very long time. That new electric car from Toyota sounds good and I wish them the best with it. I don't plan on buying another car or truck anytime and hope the Ford's I already have last me until I am not driving any longer since I am 71 now and the newest one I have is the 2007 Escape.

To be fair, EMMC is actually a fairly common type of flash storage used in more than just Tesla cars. That said, EMMC is a cheaper form of flash and Im not sure why something like TLC/MLC flash wasnt used. Also, it should be a modular component and the flash storage should be listed as a regular maintenance item every 3-5 years maybe.
