Toyota all the way and also better in car design than Honda. Toyota have better engine than Honda. I have Scion XB 2005 and got 250k no problem and 1989 Toyota Camry got 400k no problem. I got 2018 Toyota Camry with 30k no problem with the engine or transmission at all. I sold my 2005 Scion XB 250k and 1989 Toyota Camry for 2018 Toyota Camry and 2020 Toyota Corolla Sedan. People out there always criticized 2018-2019 Toyota Camry transmission have a problem because they dont know how to drive or how to brake in period the engine and the transmission properly. I have no problem at all no hestiation or jerky shifting at all like people complains out there. Toyota Thank you.

I was in the same boat. We finally chose the Pilot AWD 6sp because we like the way it handles, better AWD system, and bit more room. I didn't have a comfy feeling with 9spd. Probably better deal in the Passport if U ok with it and don't need 3rd row. We posted the Odyssey for sale but everyone changed their mind and ending up selling the newer RAV4. (Before that I had CRV for 11yrs before they went CVT. The Toyotas does have better transmission with the simiulated shifter and I really like it driving up and down in West Coast moutains but strangely I actually feel much better handling curves in my Odyssey. And going 95mph is much more stable in the van as well.

Isuzu is one of the most reliable and strongest cars out there and may I dare you and say it is more reliable than your 94 silica yes I said it Lol man we had the car for over 20 years and after the the first 6 years we only changed oil and filter like once every blue moon. my brother nearly died in it when a 16 wheel truck crashed into him and the car flipped 8 times and after extreme high speed crash the car still started it freekin started after a 140 kph crash with a 16 wheeler and you telling me its weak. he junked it because my brother had post traumatic syndrome from the crash if we didn't and we changed the broken parts it probably would have still ran.

I agree with Scotty about the maintenance on the highlander vs pilot, reason why I say this is that the pilot has a timing belt with an interference motor that honda recomend to be changed every 7 years or 100k miles. If you don't change the belt you run a risk of destroying the engine. The highlander has a timing chain that never needs to be replaced. If you are a type a person that doesn't keep a vehicle very long then it doesn't matter what you buy.

4x4's must go for a lot less money down in Houston I live up North where it snows, and in my area you'd be lucky to find a late 90's 4wd 4runner in good shape for 5, 000 or less They usually go for 5-7k in my area. I just picked myself up an 03 4runner V8, extremely clean and great maintainence records with 160k miles for 7, 400. And that was a lucky find compared to what they usually list for

Hey ScottyIm 18 and looking to buy my first car. Something around 10, 000-15, 000, RWD, stick shift, can tune up a bit, and something that is somewhat reliable. I was looking at something along the lines of the Hyundai Genesis Coupe R Spec, Nissan 370Z, Infiniti G37, Lexus IS300, or Subaru BRZ/Toyota 86/Scion FR-SDo you have any recommendation? Thanks- Kenny Montgomery

We have a 2011 Toyota Sienna and while the engine is fine, they cut corners on the quality of the interior and the wheels. Seats and armrests cracked after 5 years, mag wheels were peeling paint, glovebox latch busted. Lots of cheap plastic parts busted way sooner than expected. Just cheap all around I would expect from an American car not Toyota. I will stick with Honda.

Awesome videos Scotty, I've learned soo much by watching your videos I've also applied the advice and gotten a Toyota Corolla to deliver in, it's never left me stranded and it's a 2001. Thank u, if it wasnt for ur videos I would have never known how reliable Toyota's are.

I bought a 2018 Highlander over the 2018 Pilot simply due to Toyota's Aisin 8 speed (reliable) and the 2GR-FKS 3. 5 V6, which has a timing chain and port and direct injection (cleaner valves. Honda J35 uses a timing belt and direct injection only (potential for dirty valves.
