Ive got a 2000 Dodge Caravan (not the Grand Caravan) with the 3. 0L V6 Mitsubishi engine, bought it for 500. 00 in 2012, and still using it. Its our favorite family vehicle. Lots of interior room. The engine is a bit anemic, it downshifts when climbing slight hills on the highway. But on continuous highway driving, it can get 25 to 27 mpg. We road-tripped it to Georgia from North Dakota and it did pretty good. Does need a bit of body work, I have the parts, just havent put them all on yet. The only concern I have is the overhead cam set-up on the engine. Its driven by a timing belt, and Im just not sure in its 202, 000 miles if its ever been serviced. I watched a YouTube video about doing it and its way above my pay grade to even think about attempting. Is it a concern about the age and miles on the timing belt, or were they pretty reliable overall and just keep driving it as is?

I drive an 08 Solara with the 3MZ-FE V6, great engine, plenty of power, does 0-60 in 6. 6sec is the best Ive gotten out of it, and like you said though, rarely would you ever need to go that fast. I like the 3MZ-FE, but I have to say the updated Camry from 07-11 with the V6, quite a difference, better fuel economy, significantly more power, the 2GR-FE has like 268hp vs my 210hp. Those 07 camrys so like, 0-60 in 6sec flat and get around 22city/31hwy mpg. Also my dad rolls around in a 02 Infiniti i35, has that same 3. 5L Nissan v6 in it and the Max, beastly engine.

I drive a 2010 RAV4 AWD Limited with the 2GR-FE V6 thats puts out 269hp. Got it used in Dec 2016. Pocket rocket. Still gets around 22mph overall. Rates at 0-60 mph in 6. 2 seconds. Best when its hwy speeds between 55-65mph. Picks up like a flash. Great engine. The tranny mite be the only future problem. Its got 84, 500 miles on it. But the tranny wines at all speeds. So thats something to keep and eye on. I have done all the recommended transmission maintenance too. Hope to have it for many years to come.

Hey Scotty Im in disagree with u today, the only reason is because u talk too much precious world to Lexus but u know what Im owner of a 200 Hyundai Tiburon 2. 0 stick transmission and I will drive almost 50 miles every day 6 days a week and for Christmas almost 4000 miles because I visit my brother in Wisconsin (Im living in New Jersey) and my old Hyundai doesnt make troubles until now except for the clutch. So my suggestion is to be impartial my friend.

WRONG I own a 2009 v6 camry and a 2000 v6 honda accord coupe. The honda V6 is ten times the engine the toyota is. Hondas run SMOOTHER and have a much larger powerband. Toyotas are good cars, but HONDA IS BETTER Ive had to do less repairs on the Honda that has more mileage. The Honda runs smoother, and still gets better gas mileage. I too am a motorhead and will put my honda v-tec v6 against ANY toyota v6 ANYDAY

The v6, in my brothers toy pickup, had to rebuild, at 162, thousand, and he had to drive my Dodge to go back and forth to work so whatever. and not to mention every Toyota pickup hes ever owned the stock rear leaf springs keep breaking, pulling all the recalls on the rusty tanks and he had to get his brakes completely rebuilt by the dealer because they were junk, but still Toyotas are the best.

I had a 2003 Toyota Camry auto that had overdrive, my ex no longer wanted to date me, on the way back to her house there was a Honda Accord Coupe v6 that wouldnt let me pass, I pressed the magical overdrive button at 110mph where the 4 cylinder wouldnt go over, I passed that accord, in overdrive pulling 5400rpm and I was going over 140mph.
