The Worst Vehicle Ever Made (Do Not Buy) xadam2dudex: The major problem with U. S. made vehicles is decades ago the auto companies decided in order to maximize profits they would part out their component parts to subcontractors at the lowest bidder rates. they did not test the parts and as such used the cheapest made parts with high incidents of poor reliability. when that failed to bring in as much money as they thought they closed U. S. plants and opened up plants overseas which resulted in poor quality vehicles as the cheap parts produced. a company like Honda is a corporation of many smaller companies which work together to produce parts that are assembled to make Honda branded vehicles. most everything is made in-house, not subcontracted out, just like U. S. cars use to be made

For any engine, an antifreeze detector could be installed in the bottom of the oil pan, seems like an easy detection task. Since motor oil will be fairly non conductive, and antifreeze with water mixed in will conduct electrical current. So just like detecting whether you are running out of windshield washer fluid, two stainless steel rods about a inch long, held in a a ceramic or plastic frame designed to handle the temperatures, 3/8 spacing apart, and held at the bottom of the oil sump by a strong magnet, with just two well insulated wires, one for each rod, going to a current detecting module calibrated to alarm if the current goes above a preset threshold, would warn the driver that there is antifreeze building up in the bottom of the oil sump before it damages the engine. What do you think of that idea, Scotty?

idk what scotty is talking about in this video, my family owns a food distribution business, for a while we were using a old ratty beat up Chevy 3500 van, the thing still runs like a clock with almost 200k miles on it. now the interior is falling apart so we replaced it but it still runs and drives good. my co worker has a GMC savanna that he uses as a work van, odometer reads 250k and it broke many years ago. that think still runs like a tank. my friend has one too, over 100k and still runs good. GM makes trash but those vans are one of the few exceptions. they're pretty god damn solid

The bottom line i get from ALL your videos is: Have your car serviced at the Official Dealership or a Certified Your-Car-Brand repair shop. And if you are buying parts for your car yourself, research if you should go OEM or aftermarket. Replace oil and fluids at the correct time. Do this and you don't have to worry about any of the things Scotty talks about: )

Lol gm crap continues. And is that stock in the Dow 30? They even got that commercial out for GMAC that all good things come in 3s and they couldn't agree more. And the play smooth sounding background music showing the 3 models of GMAC SUVs. That company has no pride in making things since they know they can get bailed out.

Folks had a 1973 Ford Econovan with wall to wall shag carpet 4 captains chairs/bed/table and a radio shack am-fm 8Track player Loved It but it had a Fiberglass timing gear? ( Why Scotty Kilmer ) it broke and left us hanging for 4 days before a park ranger seen us at a remote fishing spot in the Colo Rocky Mts.

I highly doubt many people buy these fans outside of leasing as part of a fleet. Usually the first things to fail on these is their transmission. Outside of that, the current company I work for has many of them going around 150k miles on them and they're still running. Maybe you should do a video on the best work vans?

I had one of those in 2008, bought it brand new, it was a nightmare the second year in. It was green. I got rid if it in the third year. A Salvadoran painter bought it from me for 5K after I sweetened the deal with a Garmin nav system. He now drives a Ford van. I guess the Chevy van broke down on him.

My 07 SEL 3. 0 Taurus resists going into 2 ND after driving 20, 30 min. U could even just be sitting, idling and it resists 2 ND. I cleaned out fluid, out in Lucas, it still did it. Spent 2000 last year on a rebuilt trans, now this. Any suggestions? I'm desperate, can't buy another car now

Scotty I love you I live in Houston also. I found your show by accident but as soon as I did I've watched almost all of your videos. Even the ones on cars I have never owned. I loved BMWs but guess what, I don't even consider buying one now Thanks again for sharing the knowledge.
