Hey scotty, i love your videos i feel like these little bits of info here and there help build the bigger picture so i get the idea of whats going on and what to do. or at the least, learning better maintenance. Fact is, im not a mechanic. I get frustrated even following tutorials. Im looking at getting either a large van and converting it, or an older RV. I want something that parts are cheap, and its easy to work on, so labor is also cheaper. The goal is to travel to all the states on a couple month road trip, but if something should happen on the road, i dont want to be in for a nightmare. I seen one of ur videos suggested to stay away from a certain van because it had to be lifted up and the motor dropped down from the bottom. i want something that has cheaper parts and labor, reliable, that isnt going to be a money pit. What would you suggest i look for to live in for a few months around the country but planned to keep long term?

Whenever the crankshaft position sensor is changed it should be taken to a dealer or a tuner with a GM Tech II tool or it's modern day equivalent to have the crankshaft sensor relearn procedure run. Some PCMs (engine management computers) lose the calibration for this sensor whenever the connector is unplugged and will produce the same symptoms (start up and almost immediately shut down) with a check engine code P0335 that won't go away without having the relearn procedure run on it. Always check with a service manual or a qualified technician before unplugging this sensor.

Scotty. Same thing happened to my '95 Cadillac Deville just last night Car stalled when I started it. Said check engine soon I drove it to the store Seemed alright Came home ( 6 miles ) approaching my driveway, car losing power, dash lights flashing. Get car into the garage Wouldn't start again Just like the battery was dead New battery ( 2 months ago) hoping it's the Crank shaft positioning sensor?

My 97 camaro 2 years ago would randomly loose RPM for half a second and in one instance stalled out and I started it back up at a red light. Scan tool code said it was the crankshaft position sensor, fortunately for me it is bloody easy to get to since I have the 3800 series 2 engine in a engine bay built to fit a v8 so there is plenty of maintenance room around the belt mechanism in the front

I had a 1970 Corvette that would die shortly after a left turn, then restart easily and run normally until the next left turn. Turned out to be water in the gas, the water sat at the bottom of the tank, and a left turn made the water move over to where the fuel pickup would suck up some water, and when the water hit the carburetor fuel bowl, the engine died.

Thanks for the Video. Well After your previous Video on this Corvette, I was considering liquidating some of my toys to buy a Corvette for a Track Day Car. More driving, less wrenching. but between your Video and a couple of others I have watched. No Sale. I would be better off with what I already have. As always. thanks for the good advice.

Hello Scotty, I found a 2005 Mini Cooper S Convertible with 114000 miles on it where the seller is selling for 1300. Seller says the transmission slips when it gets hot, it is an automatic transmission. There is also a check engine light, but seller has no idea why. Is it worth looking into to buy as a daily driver?

Every time I worked on my GMC Sierra would leave me yelling, They ought to be ashamed It's shameful Referring to the way they engineered the vehicle to be impossible to work on. I will NEVER own another GM product. They are purposely hard to do simple tasks on them.
