I have a customer that owns one of these. Other than the poor acceleration from the 1. 4 L 4-cylinder normally aspirated engine oh, it has actually been a pretty decent car. I would have to say the most appealing part of the car is the interior. The front buckets are very nice and supportive. Pretty nice leather. It has about 90, 000 miles on it at this point. Hard to say what kind of problems it will have pass that. The owner does maintain it properly and doesn't beat the hell out of it. If you treat most things respectfully and maintain them, they can be decent and reliable.

Both my mother and my uncle had Fiat 600 models, not 500, in Argentina were they are known as fitito. They were actually junk. the first model that my mom had was so bad that she got a second one which was actually better. But my uncle's model was such a problem that he got rid of them never to get anything else ever made by Fiat. The old version of the Fiat 500 was never sold in Argentina, only the 600 which was manufactured from 1959 to 1982. Fiat eventually brought this crappy model to my country as well and people are still calling it fitito.

Did Scotty get a haircut? All this talk of Fiat and Chrysler is giving me flashbacks to the pre-Fiat days when my mom's '96 Caravan was chewing through transmissions at an alarming rate and and moody highschooler me had to wake up early on summer mornings to drive her to work in my own run-down car. Seriously, I don't think any company could save Chrysler. Not even if Toyota were to buy them out- their new Chrysler Celicas would be losing wheels so regularly you could set your watch to it.

My pops had a Fiat Uno for a daily driver that struggled to climb uphill because the clutch starts slipping, carb tuning was a mess because it keeps on stalling when idling, engine overheating even with maintained cooling system. Scotty is right about Fiats. And that car was 25 years old Now, he has a 2002 Honda CRV A/T with only normal wear and tear maintenance.

Two childhood friends of mine (brothers) both went with older Fiats as their first cars ('71 Fiat for the older brother and '87 Fiat for the younger brother. I was riding around with the older brother in his '71 Fiat one day and it stalled at the front of the line at a traffic light. Fortunately, those things are so light that it was easy to push it off the road.

True story: My first day selling cars, I sold a brand new 2012 Fiat 500 Pop automatic in that same green color you pictured. Retired couple came in for an oil change and drove off in the Fiat. The icing on the cake: their trade-in was a spicy mustard yellow Chrysler PT Cruiser Dreamcruiser. What an unfortunate automotive journey.

I have a Fiat 500L. I like it. It has the 1. 4 liter turbo. I had no real problems with this car. Automatic transmissions bad? No, not at all. They're made by Aisin. Yes Aisin. The ones who you said made the best automatic transmissions. TOYOTA ownes a good percentage of Aisin. The model in my 500L is the AW65T.

Damn. The Italians went wrong here. I still see these junky cars in the road. A nice girl in her 20s was driving one and I was in my Toyota. She was on her phone so I didnt bother but I just zipped past her. I hope she dont get into a wreck one day. Sure they are small cars to fix in parking spots.

I love my fiat 500 even if the hatchback doesn't open even if my door handle is broken even if the armrest is super glued together even if the leather on the shift knob is hanging off even if I've already replaced the transmission even if my breaks stick. it's still cute lol love is blind
